Default Non Power Aero Mirrors available?

I am finally getting on track and vision with my car, and I am simplifying a few things, ala Club Sport/ "RS"....

Can we get the aero mirrors without the wires and motors, etc?

Thanks,
Brendan

You can order the mirrors for a RS America which came with manual mirrors but you will need to also buy 928 bases.

Pelican lists them for $332: GTS Aero Manual Mirror Kit, 928

They code their part numbers so I'm not sure of the Porsche number.

they hardly weigh anything with the wires and motors. very light.
I just bought the mirrors from Anderson and cut the wires and mounted them. the motors are cheapo plastic types and are good for keeping mirror position.
maybe the mirrors weight 1 lb each!

I'm sorry. Let me rephrase - I would like to lighten the SYSTEM - and infact I Have removed 10 pounds AT LEAST of wiring so far - much of which is the dizzing array of back and forth circuits for the power mirros, seats, and memory of both.

Okay, manual - good. Thanks.

Ill rephrase my answer. Hey, the mirrors are pretty light to begin with. probably not worth going through too much effort getting manual mirrors. Obviously stock mirrors ( big lead weights!) are very heavy.

If you have removed 10lbs of wire so far, you have done a lot of work. Nice job. I remember spending several weekends removing 7lbs of wiring. Heck, all of my lightening from 2800 to 2700 has been done in 5lb increments!

Mazda Miata mirrors...

Manual, light, and aero shaped.

And $50 at the junkyard...

Nope...

Researched it on my own.

Z3, Corvette, and Miata are some of the few that mount to the doors, rather than to the corner of the window area... Mostly convertibles...

How much do you think the 928 bases are?
