Classic9 leather dash and console covers experiences

Who has had their leather dash and console recovered using the covers sold by Classic9? How did you or your upholsterer go with the fit and finish, especially with all the stitching lining up correctly? I'm having them ordered and fitted by my experienced upholsterer who has done work for me previously.
Essentially we are both asking the question of how well these are made to fit. I know Classic9 has a great reputation, and I'm also ordering my full carpet kit as well as some other leather trim pieces from them. My upholsterer normally uses GAHH and other leather suppliers for Porsches, so he hasn't worked with Classic9 stock specifically before to the best of his memory.

8cyl. I did my 83 euro using classic9 dash and console cover and it was a painless job. things fit so well I used their center armrest kit also. The only thing i would do is not to use the foam underlay. Otherwise it was a great fit.

what color dash are you getting?
I have recovered about 6 dashes with their covering kit, ( Classic 9)
and it worked out well,
I dont use the foam either as I found the leather can pull the foam apart at the convex area of the dash in that right corner.
I used 1 inch wide strips of 3 M clear bra to hold the leather tabs where they fit around the vent openings and fasten to the underside of the dash,
also a smaller piece to hold the leather around the vent ribs these work well to hold the leather edges in place after the dash sees heat cycles,
in addition I use Weldwood brush on cement to fasten the leather to the dash.
Make sure you have the extra metal pieces for the console around the switches and the right corner for the glove box door to hold the leather in place.
the console has to be trimmed in the switch surround area so the metal part will fit.
this piece holds the leather away from the switch rockers.
I have installed 15 carpet kits 14 of them from Classic 9 and one kit from another MFG that went into my black 82 .
The Classic 9 kits were all made from Sliverknit except for a one off kit that Rob Budd made from Mercedes Carmel Velour..
I think this Sliverknit is the best carpet to use.
I use Weldwood cement on the carpets as well.
For a nice treat they also made door inserts .
You can have them covered with any Pasha or leather color you like,
NOTE save your old inserts if you might want to change them back.
They also make these nifty parcel tray inserts that drop in.
I had a set covered in Tan and black Pasha they drop into the tray and press fit in.
They also make a Bikini pod topper this will cover just the top of the pod to cover up the cracks

Actually, what interests me is this excerpt from the C9 product page for the carpet kit:
Vinyl Binding is what was usually OEM. It's a durable option with no real downside. Leather was an option of some sort, but pretty uncommon.
Thanks again for the great advice! And thank you @rcrone928 for the vote of confidence in C9!

I have an '82 that I bought 10 year ago. It saw quite a bit of maintenance from the PO using an independent shop, but, cosmetically, the dash and pod were the problem areas. I went with Classic 9's German vinyl option. I looked at it as though my car was never going to be a show car, so I opted to go the vinyl route as opposed to the leather (I am a frugal individual). I used a local shop for the application. Majestic Moose came over one day and we pulled the the dash and re-installed it the following week. I couldn't be happier with the results. My pod was also cracked, so I also went with the Classic 9's pod cover at the same time. IMO that makes the interior look soooo much better (really nice to look at when in the drivers seat). I put ceramic film on the windows and windshield to prevent future UV damage, as I really do not want to go through that work again.

The vinyl is easier to install and more durable to the damage the sun causes for the dash and pod.

When discussing leather dashes previously the vinyl route always comes up. My car was delivered with the full leather option and as there is leather everywhere else I will be having it back there as well. My car isn't concours, but it's getting pretty close, even though that wasn't my intention initially. Funny that!
I drive the car only in good conditions and actually hate driving in hot weather so try to avoid it, and would never take the 928 out on a scorcher anyway. I'm not even fully convinced my windows have any tint, you can see everything and feel even the slightest sun. Not great I'll admit, but it sure does make the interior pop visually. I won't be getting it tinted because it's original and because of my preferred driving conditions.
With parking in the shade, using a sun shield and maybe even tossing on a dash protector I've been told that any leather upholstered dashboard in a classic car will hold up perfectly fine. There are also UV protection leather conditioners to use.
