Default New to the 928

New here, picked up this 83 928s a few weeks ago. It sat for years. Has 50k miles. The front spoiler was trashed. I had to do a complete service, timing belt, water pump, service trans, etc. I also went through the air conditioning and retrofitted it. Managed to get a complete but broken front spoiler. I was able to repair it. I have a set of teledial wheels going on soon.

I had a 911 a few years ago. I miss that car but the 928 is more comfortable

Welcome to the 928 family. You’ll find a mountain of experience and information here.
The paint looks beautiful. Looks like you got a good find there.
I think you’ll enjoy that car very much after you sort it out. They truly are a well refined machine

Awesome looking OB (older body style). Being from MD, you need to plan to attend 928 Frenzy in Sterling, VA (9/22-9/24 ... should be a thread on here). We have a very active 928 membership here with get togethers around the country a few times a year. In just a couple days we'll be in Banner Elk, NC for Sharks in the Mountains and in mid-July have 928 Rendezvous in Dublin, OH then Frenzy in VA.

Looks like you may be missing the OEM wheel spacers at the rear that would bring the wheels out, but if changing them for Phonedials, you can mount those and then figure out what width spacers to get for the stance. On one of mine, I used 16x7 et65 928 versions on the front and 944 turbo / 951 16x8 et 23.3 versions on the back that didn't require any spacers. Had the centers done in pearl white to match the body color and polished the lips which on the rears with the deeper faces looked really good IMO.

I don’t think I’ve seen this color. Any idea the name of it?

Congrats on your new hobby. The 928 is such a great "all around" Porsche. Looks like you live in a great area to sort her out....

Owner had dementia so his family sold it. They were happy it wasn’t running or he would have tried to drive it. But it’s was not a big deal to get back up and running.

I got my new hood badge today car if filthy but managed to get it on.

Sometimes small things really brighten up a cars appearance. How are the Tele-Dials going?

I have 3 16x7 and 2 16x8 but one 16x8 is bent. So I’m trying to get it fixed or find a replacement. So hopefully I’ll know something this week from someone that has a few of these.
