I have no idea if $95 a tube is a good price, but it's the best price considering I haven't seen a decent pair up for sale for long, long time. I hope these clean up nicely.

Now I can take my cracked tubes and experiment to see if there is any way to make them serviceable again.

I sold a set for $150 ($75 each) last fall, which I thought was a good price. I think these were a good price too

Only way I know to hold the tubes together is to get huge pieces of shrink tubing and shrink some on the tube.

With good ones getting ever more scarce we all have to be careful with our existing tubes in our S3s.

I see these being sold as new (aftermarket I'm sure) on Ebay. Has anyone tried those?

Have you seen new ones for the 85-86 32V cars? These two years are different, and I thought they weren't in high enough demand for someone to make repros.

I see tubes that say they fit 78-91, but those are not correct for the early 32V cars. They might fit, but they aren't the same as the original tubes. I may be wrong about 85-86 tube availability, though, and hope I am. Please share the link for the 85-86 tubes.

Matt, it appears you're right. They are not for the 85 or 86 which is what I need. Sounds about right.

Do you know how they differ?

It's easier to show than to describe, Here are photos with the 85-86 tube first.

the bellows part is much shorter on the 85/86 tubes because of the side clearance issues with the pipe organ intake. The above pictures show this very clearly.
