Copart GTS

I would certainly do it at the right price point. If I were in the market for another GTS. If I did not already have three project 928s in the yard. Etc. My 82 was a far far worse starting point and it was a wonderful project that enjoyed as a project and as a daily driver for many years. But you'd have to get in at $10k or under.

If the fix is good nothing to complain but sometimes they fix real wrecks and are a danger for health and live!

While it echoes so many others on this thread, here's how this all goes down.
They may or may not shrink wrap it. Normally for a car like this, they will. Depending on how long before you get your prized GTS home, that shrink wrap will adhere itself pretty well requiring much elbow grease to remove the adhesive and let's hope it doesn't pull paint off or etch itself into the paint.
See that pile of parts? They will ram most of it into those prestine leather seats causing dents, holes and abrasions. Now I say most of it cause inevitably, the one part you really needed will be missing.
Listed with keys, you may get them, you may not.
Fees, Copart will nickel and dime the crap out of you almost borderline comical. They charge you an "internet bid fee" a "gate fee" a "title mailing fee (not postage)" plus your buyers premium. The list goes on.
Oh. Another zinger, the car won't always come as you see it. They like to add dents, dings, scrapes, you name it. And someone always will try to steal an emblem, center cap, tool kit etc before it ever arrives to you.
Lets also hope thst the car wasnt laid up for some unrelated malady prior to the roof colapse.
As Mark mentioned, so many of these higher end cars will wind up overseas and sell for full boat retail.
I am not a bidder on this car but buy a few hundred cars per year including a dozen or so Porsches. These auctions are like Vegas without the shows. It's all a big gamble. Every now and again, you can do okay but the odds favor the house.

Not ALL cars from Copart have a salvage title. They do sell cars from other dealers also. It would be interesting to see if they do give it a salvage title.

If it has been branded it is already done. In Ontario, this is done by the insurance company and the MTO. It is very easy to find out by purchasing a $20 UVIP at any Service Ontario location. The only way it is not branded is if the owner sold it to co-part and did not make an insurance claim. The title could also be re-buildable.
