I’m the OP trying to narrow the various options down. Rod sent some samples to look at. What do you guys think? I also have some of the recaro brown scattered fabric coming. If I go with the scattered, I was thinking of doing sports seats and if the Karo, the “standard”. A couple other swatches are inbound as well but I think these two inserts will stay on the short list. Last but not least, Im also not against doing two different colored leather. Just one leather color and different colored carpet?? You guys know what would look best, so im hoping you all will help.
Stick with brown leather with beige and brown pasha inserts. It will break up the "sea of chocolate" and give some pop to the interior.
Make sure you go with leather and not vinyl. The pasha can be fragile enough but the vinyl tends to rip at the stitches quite easily.
This is the insert I was referring to from my former 80 Euro S
^ This is the winner! Hands down the best color for your Hellbronze car! I sure wish mine had been this color!
Don't listen to the rest of these guys. Keep you car original whenever possible, and if you're not going to do that, at least keep it to a configuration that could have been factory. Anything else is literally throwing money away if/when you someday sell it.
The context is also important. If you haven't already, put each swatch, isolated from the other, at various appropriate locations within your interior and take pictures in various lighting conditions.
Here are some of your interior pictures with the swatches interspersed. Lighting may be different among these, so a better mockup is what I suggested.

I'm putting in all new interior (likely) so I can come up with the combination of leather/fabric throughout.
Personally I don't think left is going to look right in that car. The contrast in my mind looks wrong. But that's just me.
I tend to agree. The only way it might work, IMO, is with a black interior (or darker exterior car). But a black interior would also be dark, so why not stay with the stock brown (even if redoing it)?

Ah, OK, thanks for that! Now you have a ludicrous amount of grocery store options!
The further you stray from stock, the more you are on your own in uncharted territory. Which can be fun, but also makes mockups more important, IMO. Let the mockup sit a few days too, to see if the initial impression stays. And don't assume a matching color name or code will match in color. Always get a sample!

Good call. After all, our inputs are just our thoughts. The important thing is that you like it, whatever interior you put in. Usually I would think like some others here and say "go original" in a car like yours. But in this case I think not. That dark brown interior may be the thing in the future, but now it is very dark and just not doing your 928 justice. To break it off with something else is surely the way to go...
Is it normal and correct to have the door pillars and headliner to match the dash? “I was in my garage and had an idea” (anybody get it?) Anyway, the seats will have inserts that match the door panel inserts. I was thinking the seat leather and the door panels, pillars, and headliner be one color leather and the dash/center console and door panel arm rests to be another color leather. Both leathers would match the inserts. Hopefully that all makes sense.
