Default Coolant reservoir renewal?

In detailing the engine compartment, I am able to clean up most parts, but I cannot think of how to renew the look of the coolant reservoir. I've seen these for sale from time to time (Partwerks), but the used units I've seen are just as discolored "orange" as the one I have. It's even more noticeable, if the old cap is replaced with a new one.
Has anyone come up with a way to return these to their original "light yellow" color ?

I wonder if you may be able to dye it?

Andy, Dyeing it may cover the discolored plastic, but as hot/cold fill level readings are dependant on it being translucent, the opaqueness has to be controlled.
Porken: >$100.!!! + read Sterling's comment
I' ll look into it a little further.

My tank is over 2 years old, with about 30 miles and it looks like new. Maybe it's the 75deg thermostat, or maybe the glycol-free orange stuff makes a difference ...

My 2002 Ford Explorer also has a pressurized reservoir, but after 42K miles, it still looks new. It's using a blue color coolant.

The 928 tank does turn yellow with the extended life coolant too.

the plastic deteriorates from heat and chemicals and it turns yellow. It is drying out like pvc in the sun.

I'm putting a new expansion tank in my car this weekend and need to select a new coolant brand. Any recommendations, more than already offered?

Got the tank from-- http://www.departstop.com/index.html

for $89.95...the service was decent; got the tank, a new cap and a window switch in a timely fashion. Anyway...antifreeze.

I have an FSM but can't find a specification exactly...one web page says phosphate and silicate free is what to use and here one says to get glycol-free coolant. Which is it?

As for returning the original color to the tank, if you are going to take it out of the car, soak it in a bucket of strong bleach solution for a couple of hours. Strong would be like 16 oz of 3% liquid ( Clorox) in enough water to cover the tank in a bucket, likely 2-3 gallons. That's what I'd try.
