Hmmm, sounds like a nice day out. I might go check it out. Not much interchanges with my 86.5, but if it's got decent phone dials, or decent fenders I may be tempted. Anyone looking for something that I can check out or get photos of?

It's probably not feasible to transport, but the interior trim across the top of the hatch, and the panel just forwarded it it at the rear of the headliner, where the rest sun visors fit?

I looked up travel time and it's a 9 hour road trip from SW Oklahoma, so probably not practical.

If you want, text me at 7204996582 with what you want and I can send photos if I go tomorrow and you can decide whether it's worth the shipping or me holding for a while or something.

I checked out the 78 in our local junkyard this morning. I pulled out a good taillight lens, the fog lights, the clock, a rearview mirror and a fuel pump relay. There was another guy there who has a 79 that was pulling parts too. He got the sunroof switch delete plate, the distributor and wires and the grill, at least. Nothing I bought cost more than $9.

The car is a 78 5-speed with 150k, last registered in 2018. VIN is 1103. The interior is shot. Dash and anything covered in leather is bad, but the console seemed to be decent. Stalks and switches looked nice. The engine look good and clean, although the airbox wasn't salvageable. Windshield and door windows were good. Panels were generally straight, but all had some dents or dings. The front and rear bumper were good for refinishing. It has Koni reds that didn't look bad but obviously I have no idea how old they are. The jack and spare were there and in good shape.

Let me know if you have any questions or need something. I'm not sure how soon I would be able to go back, but happy to do it if anyone wants something. I saw someone else buying a spare tire for another car and it was $38, if that helps give a sense of pricing.

- I did not even think to check the gas cap. If I go back...
- The headliner was NOT good. I had a request for that, so checked it out, and it was sad and beyond repair.
- Tool panel had no tools in it, but the panel itself seemed to be decent as in the pictures.
- Agree about tire and jack. If I go back, I will grab them and I can hold them until someone needs them.
- I will put the shift **** on the list for next trip.

Also:
- The CE panel was complete (all relays and fuses) and looked good.
- The carpets seemed decent, most just needed a clean. I don't think they were original, given the lack of wear.
- The mechanicals looked good. The intake couplers looked fresh, which makes me think the car was maintained mechanically. Clean Bosch spark plugs was another indicator.

I could use the following:
shift ****
the heat shield above the cat plus the one above the passenger side downpipe.
If there is a hatch release solenoid or something that mounts to the wiper assembly to do that.
A battery hold down clamp.
It would be nice to have the intermediate ring from that clutch setup, but that's a PITA to remove.

If the heat shield is still there it should be easy since the cat is probably already gone. Battery hold down clamp is easy to grab if there.

The intermediate ring is another story. The car is propped on a few old wheels, and the ground here in Colorado is currently icy and muddy. So, for comfort and safety I plan to spend as little time under the car as possible.

I'd also take the center console and the everything that is in it. Especially the trim around the shifter!

As well as the door panels, armrests and cards?
