Default dash repair times 6

So now i find myself wanting to restore 6, 928s. Dashes are all you would image, as are gauge pods. What is the best scalable solution. The dash is the thorniest part of the restoration. Help

Can the gauge pods, have cracks filled and sprayed with vinyl type covering? Something less aggressive the Rhino shield.
Alan.

Ron @AirtekHVAC has done a couple using filler and then testire spray. Looks like a lot of dusty and tedious work, but the results were good. Me, I'd ship them off to Classic9, @olmann, or sonderworks for leather recovering.

I dremeled the cracks in my dash to make a "V" and filled them with PoolPoxy. Sanded them smooth and then covered with fiberglas impregnated bondo. Sanded that smooth and then recovered. So far so good.

Not really as hard as I thought it would be.

I followed this Polyvance video and used SEM finishing products on my 71 GTV dash, came out in excellent condition.

i came up with a shortcut for the pod....grind the cracks and fill/sand, cover the top of the pod with apparel grade 4 way stretch (thin) vinyl. trim the vinyl at the apex of the front curve, using a hot knife (I made mine by cutting off the end of a screwdriver, shaping it to a sharp blade, and inserting it into a $6 harbor freight soldering iron....i'm sure that a "real" hot knife would be much better). cut it at a bevel and it will be hard to even notice. add some lightweight body glaze along the cut edge, and sand it...spray it with SEM vinyl dye. if you take your time, you end up with what appears to be leather on top, and no one will ever notice the blend along the curved edge. and the good news is that you don't have to do anything on the front. i have pics on a post here somewhere.
