Default Rebuilding Vacuum hoses on my -87 S4

Hi i'm planing on lifting the intake on my -87 this winter and with that comes replacing knock sensors, tps and fuel lines etc..
I'm also planing on rebuilding the vacuum hoses. I've seen that Roger on 928srus have a set you can buy but I'm located in Sweden so i would preferably buy from europe. Can anyone tell me the size and roughly how many meters i will need. I think i've heard somewere that all i need is 3mm hoses but you guys maybe have more intel.

/Emil

Your local Mercedes Benz dealer will probably have the correct size of nylon tubing if you take a sample along - whether or not they would have it in black no too sure on that- I found an opaque tube at the local dealers but that sort of thing does not worry me. Not sure what total length you need but the stuff is not that expensive and having a bit spare is always useful- 3m should see you OK.
They should also be able to help you out with something to form the connectors.

I have found a shop nearby where i'm located that sells vacuum hoses and connections but i was thinking if somone knows if it's the same size on everything under the intake aswell.

That's why you buy from Roger. It's all spelled out in his kit. He did all this work and should be compensated for it. Perhaps you could email him and he'd consider providing this to you but no one should give you his specs without his permission.

Default Vac tubing

Try McMaster-Carr. They have metric sizes, not to mention many cad fasteners, bolts etc. quick shipping too

Since the specs for length and the part numbers are clearly spelled out in PET, this information didn't take more than a few mintues to gather.
I'm not sure that qualifies as a "state secret" or even as proprietary information....

Roger does have an outstanding website, but DR was selling configurable intake refresh kits (to me, on 9/1/06, for instance) before 928sRus' website ever existed.

Thanks Jeff but I can't take any credit for the vacuum kit.
Just put it in a neat kit and offer it for sale along with a vacuum diagram to help 928 folks.
Nothing is really proprietary on a 928.

Hi Emil,

I am nearly done with restoring my '87 S4 and I used Roger's kit to replace all vacuum hoses and elbows.
Might take a bit of effort (and $$) to get it across the Atlantic but it was worth every $ in my opinion.

Cheers,

Manfred
