You should recheck again at 1500 miles, or whenever you adjust the factory manual belt stretcher, with a cold engine. No telling what the adjustment is now with a warm-ish engine. Make sure to spin the engine with the starter after adjustments to settle the belt. (Rotating by hand will not give you a true reading.)
Factory cold setting for all 32V is: 1-4 (-2), 5-8 0.
I personally adjust to 1-4 (-4), 5-8 0 (after I checked the cam timing while running).

It got tension checked too. Needed so so little Katie didn't think we should do anything. But we did.
It's been about 4 tanks of gas past the 350mi change. It's closer to 1400 than 1000..check ODO, I was just tired and typin numbers.
All back together.

assuming I remember correctly, retarded cam timing increases top end power, while advanced increases low-midrange. I know my old sharky was set slightly retarded by Marc Thomas and she ran hard up top...286whp on a mustang dyno is amongst the highest I ever saw, but her torque number was a bit low...269 ftlbs comes to mind.
