Id take set right now...but if this will take 3yrs, just say so, and I'll get a new set with a tray and start 3D printing them.
They're not structural really for the new metal trays, and IMHO, the need to secure them to the chassis is...well, i've never owned a 928 that came with those screws in when I got it, and never seemed to be a problem on any plastic one, and would seem to destry the vents if you hit something because they are hard mounted. (My own thoughts)
3D materials have come a long way.

Jerry - I'd say focus on the unobtainium - which here of course here are the vents! The undertrays Mark sells are already available, great and its already a relative niche market. I was super impressed with the design, fit & finish of those and don't see any need for improvement there - so unless they become unavailable again I'm sure we can come up with more unique unobtainiums for you to work on. Which would of course mean more of a captive market...for whatever that becomes

Timing couldn't be better. I was looking at this thread last week and said to myself why would I need that? I drove out to "The Bridge" car show at the old bridgehampton race track this past weekend. I never drive my cars into NYC and I usually avoid the Bridges or tunnels unless it is in anything but my pickup. I was running late so I took a chance and it nearly did me in.
After exiting where the upper and lower decks of the GWB meet there is this horrible area that has no space, many trucks and no place to pull off. I was surrounded by semi's, overly aggressive drivers, potholes debris when suddenly I hit what appeared to be a harmless tie down strap. Well it was anything but. It could have easily damaged the oil pan and destroyed a very nice GTS engine. I wasn't ready for this to come to the end of my 17 years of ownership and thankfully it did minimal damage to the pan but could have easily been worse. After 30 years of making aluminum and magnesium castings I know this could have been far worse. Thankfully the damage was limited and I can live with the damage to the oil pan. At this time I don't plan to replace it but now I see the need!!! Order placed for the aluminum tray and probably something everyone should consider.

It is just the cooling fin that was damaged and no signs of cracks but might consider replacing it just for cosmetic sake in the future.
