Where might I source these? Should I just go aftermarket at this point?

You can try checking with Roger @ 928sRus or Mark Anderson @ 928 International. If you're interested in aftermarket, Greg Brown @ Precision Motorwerks. I have Greg's dampers for my 86.5 and love it. It has smoothed out my engine; especially in the upper RPM.

Yeah, I've been trying to get them thru Precision since April, they haven't been very responsive, I'm not one to keep calling and hounding them. Last time I called I was told they had received a batch that had a manufacturing defect of some sort and had to be returned. The lead time was indefinite on another shipment, that was in early June.

Yeah, we decided to make some changes for the '85/'86 dampers...and we are still waiting for a couple of pieces to come from the machine shop.
They tell me that the pieces are now in production and should be ready in a week or so.
