My mechanic told me about this car about a year ago. It sold at an obscure dealer auction in Fort Lauderdale for about $2400.00. I’ll see him today and see if I can get the name.

"I purchased it to restore" & "I'm not a mechanic" have to be literally two of the dumbest phrases ever said in about the 928.

Shame as Imo, irs not worth fixing nor does it make a worthwhile parts car.

Just checked and I have the same rear fender damage and VIN.
Bought the 928 (running) and a 944 in Delway, North Carolina.
Its not in the best shape but over the past few months I've been working on it. Guy who sold it to me was awesome, had boxes of parts for both of the cars which has definitely saved me tons of money.
(Pic of VIN plate and damage to confirm)

Are those lightweight wheels now with all the curb rash reducing the weight by 50%?

Good luck & happy motoring.

I think someone could send him a donor edge of a fender from a parts car. Should not be to difficult to fix! The cars paint job is damaged enough so after the repair it should look better!

The outside damage is the least of my worries for now, although the superleggera wheels are fantastic. The engine is the only thing that 'works', while almost everything else is either broken or nonfunctional. This 928 has been though a lot but I'm having a ton of fun rebuilding it!

Fantastic! I was sad when this one did not look likely to be rescued. Please share in as much detail as you can.
