Into the passenger door today... has the usual VIN markings and these odd brackets that hold the armrest in place...as in it does not flip open to allow access to the pocket. Apparently #11 has the armrests anchored as well.
Also has "typical" very odd handmade speaker mounts.

Cool speaker mounts- that speaker foam is in mind-bendingly good condition.

Like the orange and purple vacuum lines too. So many little details in these press cars!

The 1967 10 centimes coin maybe there since the test session in February 1977!

Well we know the car was in france for about 6 weeks in February and March of 1977, but as is common with these press cars Gawd only knows what it was doing and where it went while Porsche owned it. Found a british coin under the driver seat too but before the euro currency it was common for individual country currency coins to travel about intereurope.

One day I hope to get to the Archives and maybe learn some more about the factory use of the press cars they were sold off (around 1979-80)

That looks to be an 'M' cloth-surround similar to what was used with JBL K-series speakers which started in the 70's - JBL K110's, K120's, etc.

I have many of those JBL guitar speakers and the cloth-surrounds do not rot like the paper or foam surrounds.

Just another day in the life ... One of my best buddies putting #4 through the paces for his last drive on US soil for a while. Two hours later he was on a plane to Italy for two years, and I was shopping at Costco.

In a rush? (Excellence was Expected Volume 2 )

A most intriguing painted door latch at the press launch on #4. Also shown a normal plated door latch on the petrol #11 or #12 at the same event. An at least partially assembled door got painted white at the factory.

Basically numbers are added for on the spot weight checks in case police suspects overloading. Not usually problem in 928's but to get Belgian registration at the time same rules apply to Porsches as all other cars. This is just a guess but numbers do make sense.

PMA: Poids Maximal Autorisé, maximum allowed weight, in kg, of the car, without towing.
PMA-TRAIN: Poids Maximal Autorisé including a trailer. Usually, there's a maxiumum percentage of the trailer versus the car.

These indications are here in case of control by the police.
