Default 928 seats

I would like to remove the drivers seat to repair it. Problem is that I use my shark as a daily driver. I was intending to put an ad in the local PCA newsletter looking for a old seat of any condition which I could use while repairing my own.

Question : are there seats from other porsche models that are a straight bolt in to the 928?

Thanks in advance.

Glenn, the bracket inside the seat on which the switch plate is mounted has broken. It is just a curved peice of rod welded in two places to the seat frame. I need to pull back the leather enough to re-attach this bracket, then remount the switches ( I have been able to get a couple of good used ones to replace a couple that have failed) and then put the leather back in place. I may also try to replace the foam in the lower part of the seat.

This is a temporary fix until I have the cash to get the seats properly re-upholstered.

Any particular reason why you can't move the passenger seat over while you work on the driver seat?

Didn't know you switch the seats. I guess the adjustment switchs would not be accessable.

Seats for later 911s, all 944s all 924s, and boxters will fit, I think. I have seats from a 993 in my cab and they fit fine. You can usually get 924 seats from a pick a part for a few bucks.

Sean,

I've heard of people doing this with manual seats. Not sure if it would work in your case, but I don't see why not. How much adjusting will you need to do while the DS seat is being repaired anyway?

I will be refurbising my seats soon and plan on doing the Leatherique thing on the passenger side first. Then, when completed to perfection, pull the drivers side and install the passenger seat. No reason one could not do this, RIGHT?

Anything to avoid the risk of suffering severe BWAAAAAAAH withdrawal pains!
