Yah, you're right... let's get back to discussing CBR's, YZ's, etc...

That was filmed here in Las Vegas.

I was there last week for "midnight mayhem" I didn't see that truck but there was a white one that was surprisingly fast as well. That video was shot in November. Im sure he will be out there again,.

Note to self: DO NOT LINE UP WITH BIG BLACK FORD F350!

This is great...now we have big diesel trucks to worry about too...

Relating a story back a couple of years ago..coming back from Devek days..in the Siskyous (northern cali, so. oregon) Adam B and I were heading home and when we get to the twisties, we are passed by a dually doing over a 100..so we just get in line and follow....amazing to see that truck take the corners at high speed...so wide with virtually no body lean.....

Certainly gained some time there

HAHAHAHA... talking about being passed in the turns by a dually... I am still in Rennlist, right? ...the Porsche forum?!

That's hillarious! I thought the big ol' things felt akward. I'm a small car and small truck type of guy; I like mine nimble.... the dually was freakin huge and well, just felt too high to get sideways in without sweating!

Regardless of how well one can tune a diesel pickup, there's almost no fixing their suspension.

"Duals" seldom exceed .72 lateral G on a skidpad. With all the 'precision' inherent to a very long solid axle with 2 high-load-rated tires on each end, it's almost impossible to make them work even on a g-pad, let alone in real-world driving.

They might catch you in a straight line, but you can watch them slide off the road in a hurry in the twisties. They just are not designed to handle.

If you remember (and were unlucky enough to ever drive one) the old American luxo-barges from the mid-70s, the handling 'prowess' of one of those trucks is about on par with one of those turds. It may feel like it's gripping, but it's just an illusion. The skidpad and the cones tell you the truth.

But, it's still quick in a quarter.

I still would love a ride in it. Kyle's Dodge runs 12.5 in the 1/4 with a good launch. Let us face the fact that a lot of things can go fast in a straight line. The Turbo Supra is a great example of fast in a straight line and in the ditch in a curve. But honestly, how many of us expect to run with that Ford from light to light? He probably wouldn't be dumb enough to road race it, but who knows. Didn't a F-350 run the silver state classic last year and "one lap of America" this year? Nonetheless we should give the guy his props.

Cool truck

Ya know,

A V-10 Ford would be a good candidate for a supercharger too.

Short stroke, power input to the crank not as smooth as a V-12, but not bad in a pinch. Bet it'd 'smoke' the diesels...

I stopped by the House of Whipple last weekend, shoulda asked if they were working on one.

I don't know how well the bottom end of the V-10's are built. I suspect that they could handle about 7 pounds of intercooled boost safely, but I have no first hand knowledge of this. I just have a stock one. I suspect that someone has already built that kit. Banks probably already has a twin turbo setup--maybe not, actually. I don't suspect that the V-10 running on even 10psi of boost could come close to hanging with that Cummins powered dodge running 50psi on stock parts! Let me put that on the list of things to do. Let me see first make money, second loose money, third listen to Chip bitch about the dust the the house, fourth try to tell the kids why Crystal meth is actually bad for them, fifth finish up the fleet of cars behind the shop, sixth......I think that comes in about 128 on the list of things to do. It would be neat though....... Hope all is well with you.

Take care.

Well...
Your in my hands on knowledge base here. I have a 2000 350 dually, 7.3 liter powerstroke, turbo. I was fairly disapointed with the stock output of the diesel, but , I purchaced a programmer from Superchips with 3 settings..... setting one adds about 75 hp 2 adds 100 and 3 adds 150. I have to say when I first installed the program, I really impressed with the tuning changes. For a vehicle of this size, the performance is outstanding. I have toyed with the ricer group a couple of times always coming out on top. this really pisses them of being smoked by a crew cab diesel. As for handling in the twisties, I'll stick with the P-Cars.

Tim
