Default Aluminum Foil on the Engine Firewall

While the engine is out I'm re-doing the engine compartment. The aluminum foil on the firewall is pretty tattered and nasty. Does anyone have a source or replaced it? Thanks in advance for any response.

It's to keep the aliens out of the engine. Seriously, there are these little purple dudes that live on Venus. They are still upset that Porsche ripped-off their technology for the 928 from a crashed "mothership"

The McLaren lined their engine bay with gold foil. Try to find some of that.

Thanks for the help. My wife is already miffed for me using her foil on the hose ends and other various openings from removing the engine. Works great for that, but a little thin for the firewall. The link has possibilities, assorted types. Gold might be an interesting choice, hadn't thought about it, but.... There are still Safeway Stores around? The only ones I know of closed years ago.

What about some of that insulated foam?

Then you could have extra sound insulation, as well as insulation from the heat...

On the AC drier in my Explorer, I insulated it with a foil-faced gummy stuff that came from (gasp!!) Home Depot. It's peel-and-stick on the back, foil on the outside. I don't remember the size sheets it came in, but it cut down nicely to the six-inch-wide strips I used to wrap the drier cannister. I added some purple tie-wraps to help hold it in (purple adds about 8 horsepower under the hood) but it would stick one layer deep to the steel firewall just fine. IMO, this is just what you are looking for. Just don't tell anybody where you found the stuff...

Jim, you just had to tell me it's available AND in stock. Now I'll lay awake at night wrestling with OEM Porsche or Aftermarket thoughts. You really know how how to inflict pain. I'm gonna be hurt if I'm not on your Christmas card list.
