What sort of cover do you have and why?
These cars are between 10 and 25 years old, something is guaranteed to stop working unexpectedly, and usually at the most inconvenient time and location.
My car has been brought back on a flat bed three times; LH ECU death, Cam Belt failure, and Fuel Pump failure (except it was fine - I'd run out of fuel - Doh!)

My coverage is for any vehicle to anywhere (less than 100km) as long as I'm in the car, CAA covers it.
Used there services many times towing cars that I buy, to fix and sell.
Best part is, the In-Laws gave it to me every christmas for the last 7 years.
Now that's a gift that keeps on giving!

I have AAA roadside assistance. With the "plus" membership I can get 4 tows per year, up to 100 miles each free. I don't even have to be in the car, I just call and say "make it so". Also included, tire change, jump start, lockout service, gas delivery(if out of gas), and for the clueless... they will often make an attempt to get your car started.
As for "why"... I actually worked in this capacity for AAA about 20 years ago... it was my night job during college. I know from the inside how they operate. As far as I'm concerned AAA sets the bar in this industry, all others are pretenders(at least in the US).

Same coverage as Sharkskin.
AAA's Plus Coverage tows me on a flatbed anywhere up to 100 miles away along with normal roadside assistance stuff. And if you mom or sister has the same coverage then after you get dropped off you call your mom or sister and have their coverage tow you the next 100 miles.
Did I just say that?

Guys, AAA has changed their rules. You can go 100 miles, have them drop the car, call right back and get another 100 miles from a local station, repeat up to 400 miles. They've decided to offer it, and you can use it(almost) any way you choose withing fairly broad guidelines.

Let me see, a comprehensive set of tools in the back seat. Spare belts, relays, fuses, bubs, jumper wires, and a few odds and ends. A GOOD jack, a CD copy of the WSMs, usualy a lap top to run 'em on. Two hands, two feet, two eyes, and normaly a good brain. Sometimes it farts. Oh, and a full size spare.
A cell phone, and a credit card.
Other than that, what could I possibly need?
