I organized a small 928 meet today..
A friend of mine on the Swedish 928-forum (not Rennlist) with a GTS and I decided that it would be nice to see our cars in person.
I posted it to the other 928 guys and thought that another one or two cars might show up.. All in all we were 9 cars, 7 928's, one 930 and a 944S2 Convertible.
We met up and then went for a cruise. Since nobody knew this was going to happen until saturday morning people had other arrangements as well and we were only four at the end..
Here are some pictures from the event:
Here are the final four, Niels Jörgensen on the left, me, Björn and Jörgen.
And two small film of what the roads look like, unfortunately the cameraman had troubles holding the camera steady on the twisty parts. Mostly straight line stuff here.

Three Wheelin'
Looks like a lot of fun.
You were so polite. You even slowed down for the residence. Yay.
I really must pull mine out of the garage once in a while. Hmm. You have me thinking about an Avenue of the Giants run. I really ought to get a film of that. Huge redwood trees with a windy road through them. It's one of the best drives.

We drove through villages in 30-50 km/h and past the houses along the road in 70 km/h.. I think it's the only reasonable thing to do when out driving, and it sure is fun using the brakes.

Is that what you call a smorgasboard of Porsches? Lots of the best, and then some more good stuff... Looks great, and nice to see you are including your friends from Denmark!
I was surprised to see that you haven't put the new wheels on, yet. What's holding you back?
PS: Those pink buildings in the second picture - what are they? Commercial or residential? Are they going to stay pink, or is this just exposed building material? Just curious...

WOW- that turning torso is way cool! I wonder how much these condos sell for. Are you planning to get one?
Sorry to hear that the rims don't fit. They don't come in a size that works?

We had a great day, I covered 400km total.
Let's do that again, soon
Though I did get two major stone-chips in my wind-screen, and I think my suspension needs an upgrade before I do more racing...I mean driving... on twisty country roads ...
I was really surprised at how strong that S2 pulled. For a top-less sportscar there really cannot be anything that comes even close in terms of performance vs. cost. I think I need one
(BTW: Have you seen how much heat the Swedish king is taking for doing 160 in his GT3 on the freeway? How irresponsible of him ) ...

Niels, nice that you liked the drive. We had a blast taking another road back to Malmö, the back roads in that area are really worth exploring.
Yep, those 944S2's are really fast. He said that he needed to keep it up above 5000 rpm's to keep up with me though while I was driving around in third gear most of the time, I downshifted to second in the slower corners and visited fourth gear speeds a couple of times.
It's very nice driving a car like the 928 with all the low down power and let the road grip do the trick when driving fast and concentrating on the line instead of buying busy getting gear changes right.
Björn who was driving the 944S2 was surprised about how flat the 928 was while cornering while he had to fight with body roll, even if his suspension is upgraded. I really missed my S2 when seeing his car, but I soon smiled a bit when remembering that I have a 928GT to play with instead..
