I'm fully aware, just having a little fun. I figured the Von Trapp Family video would have made that obvious

I heard from Nicole a few days ago that she was selling her 928. This has got to be one of the most babied and well-cared-for 928 on the planet. To say the least, Nicole is a clean freak perfectionist. Nicole was the first or second person I met locally after buying my 928 in 1999. We quickly bonded as I found her an invaluable source of comprehensive information about the 928 model line. In the local 928 community, she was the core person for me and others and a close friend. Yes, it's sad to see her sell her baby, but change and growth in other ways is an essential part of life. Somebody else is going to get a great car that I know intimately from having spent many hours lying on cold (but clean) concrete under Nicole's car over the years tinkering on one thing or another with Nicole. I'm watching the auction with interest and anticipate that the bidding will soar. It certainly should.

In my highly biased opinion the '91 S4 is the pinnacle of 928 development. To own one of these is to be able to experience what I believe was Porsche's ultimate intent was for the 928, to be the ultimate GT cruiser. There may be versions of the 928 that may provide a more visceral response for the driver, but the '91 S4 with all of its small detail refinements, is so entirely effortless to drive, and so resolute in its ability to provide maximum luxury, performance, and sport oriented comfort, it is truly the most poised and balanced 928 package without equal.
To be able to drive a '91S4 cross country should be a bucket list item for every 928 owner. To do it in a car as well sorted as Nicole's, will make the trip that much finer.
Good luck with the sale Nicole, some one lucky is getting a great example of a 928.

I vividly remember both of you! Yes, it's been a tough decision that I delayed over and over again. But I finally found myself comfortable with the idea of letting go... well, until I saw the awesome pictures on BaT. That made me think: "I want that car!". Hope there are plenty of others who feel that way.

Hi stranger! I have been wondering, if you are still involved in 928s. Thanks for coming to meet us so many years ago in Scottsdale!

Glad you like the condo. I hope life is good for you as well!

I don't even know where to start thanking you for all you have done for me, and how much I learned from you in those 20+ years since we met. Remember that friendships are forever; they are not tied to specific objects. I hope to see you sometime soon in California or Arizona!

You are so right about the 1991 models. I took a lot of time to find one with an all classic grey interior, where most everything (except dash and console) is wrapped in leather. Why the 91? Well, they started introducing a long list of improvements from higher power assist to better sound insulation (more dense foam, and in more places), new parking brake handle (no more risk of getting caught in it when getting out), HVAC recirculation setting and so much more. It was a major upgrade, and I didn't want to miss-out on it.

Nicole,

It was good to meet you at OCIC in Dallas in '09. Your condo looks awesome! Thanks for all your contributions to the community over the years.

Nicole, good luck with the sale! I know you are sad to see it go, but the memories will never fade I am sure. It was great to meet you at Sharktoberfest in 2019. I enjoyed talking to you about how your love for 928s began growing up in Germany and how the 928 was an aspirational goal that motivated you into adulthood. Also, thank you for letting me drive your Tesla that day! My first time even sitting in one. Cool car! Hopefully we will cross paths again.

Nicoles 91 is one of the nicest in Norcal. Someone is going to get an excellent 928 and hopefully they will keep up the high standard of care this 928 is used too

It's been a while. I'm glad to hear that all is well and you'll be sticking around.

Hi Nicole. I too remember meeting you at the OCIC in Denver, in 2008 as I recall, but sadly I don't think we became very well acquainted. I do remember being interested in your Porsche related business and I remember outbidding you for the painting of the GTS that had been commissioned for sale at the event. I have it hung right next to my chair in my office and see it multiple time a day. You are always in the back of my mind when I do and sometimes in front when I tell a client about it. Had we become better acquainted at the event I would have liked to have you stop by my house on your way home because I think if you went west on I70 you drove right by my house in Grand Junction which is a stone's throw away from the highway. I have enjoyed our acquaintance here over the years since then. Best wishes for you in your next endeavors whether Porsche related not. Good luck with the sale. I wish I could buy it. I'll bet it goes for $30k or more.

Today is the day... In a few hours, I may be without a 928 for the first time in 21 years.

It's an emotional day for me, both because of all the wonderful memories connected to the car and the hope that it will find a new loving home, where it will be well cared for.

This car has always been special to me. Hope it will be special to the new caretaker as well.

What the option codes don't show is that this car has the optional leather package, which includes:
- Leather sun visors
- Leather A pillar covers
- Leather door window surrounds
- Leather upper door panels
- Leather inner door handle and door pocket cover
- Leather inside rear quarters
- Leather hatch window trim
- Leather center storage lid
- Leather rear AC housing

The package itself is not that common, and even less so in all classic grey!

In addition, this baby comes with a set of nice but careful modifications and a trunk full of parts.

Modifications include:
- Clear turn signal lenses with LEDs and Relay
- US front bumperettes replaced with Euro trim
- Smoked side markers with LEDs in the front
- Tail lights with tinted upper section
- GTS mirrors
- 17" turbo twist wheels
- One of only 20 sets of stainless steel door sill inserts, with GTS style "928" lettering applied
- One of only two bloody burl interior trim kits ever made, covering console insert and door vents as well as the rear AC bezel. The latter is very important, as it protects the rear AC vents from being crushed by any cargo
- Custom shifter with large button (very few of those were made) - original shifter is included and in perfect shape
- Stainless steel shifter plate cover - an additional stock shifter plate is included
- Almost brand new original Porsche floor mats, matching so much better than the previous Lloyd mats
- Tinted side and rear windows
- CD Radio with Bluetooth, professionally installed with microphone above the rear view mirror
- Rear Muffler Bypass for a nice rumble - original muffler is included

HiTec should have an inventory of all the parts that are included. There are some valuable gems that are hard to find or quite expensive. A nice bonus for the future caretaker.

Thanks, all, for the nice comments. Please wish me luck!

You are right. I met my best friend through the MKIV community 23 years ago. I am no longer a custodian of a MKIV but I cannot imagine my life without that person in it. Our friendship has led us on a path that defined our journeys and effected related relationships lives forever.
I hope your gorgeous 928 finds a terrific and welcoming home. Best of luck to you!
