I have a set with 285/30-18 Rear ET65 with a 1/4 inch spacer, and 225/40-18 front ET50 with no spacer. They do not rub, even on the track.

I will try to fit 265/35 in front and 295/30 rear next tire change using a spacer in front with 18x10 ET65 on all 4 corners.

visit www.akkurat.com and you can see a set on someone's car. It is red I believe. My car is blue, and many people said they would not fit etc... blah, blah, blah.

Well, I have driven over 30k miles with them, and no problems. The front suspension is slightly off (steering roll radius) due to the ET50 front rims. however, when I change to ET65 with the spacer, the ET should be 59.25 or back to the correct steering roll radius.

PS.. I think they look great.

Cheers,

The 18" C2 5 spoke Lightweight wheel WILL RUB the front fenders! They rubbed on my 93 GTS and the front fender lips are rolled. They look great but they will rub. Trust me....

They look pretty good, but they rub huh?

I'm looking to put them on a red 85 Euro S. Too bad the link to akkurat didn't work. Oh well, Thanks for the pics chuck.

Are you still selling them? PM me with the asking price, I may be interested, though I don't like the chrome look too much.

blau, i had the same idea to use the 18x10 inch fittment on the front with its larger offset but i read that 9.5 inch is the widest diameter that can be fitted to the front. hope im wrong!

I'm thinking a set of 8x18" with 245-40/18 front and 10x18" with 295-30/18 in back would be super sweet! All I'd need is a supercharger to help me turn them arround faster and a set of GTS big reds to make them stop.

if you drive aggressively then a larger front width to carry more rubber and reduce understeer would be usefull. ive got 7.5 and 8 inch fronts for my cars, i think 9 inches would be good!

OK, they will NOT rub--at least not at an 89 GT with stock height. I even took them ON THE TRACK and they did not rub. You can see pictures of my car on akkurat's website. They are 50MM front offset (2 mm MORE than SSR gt3's) and they don't rub.

Have I mentioned that they don't rub?

But, as Ed would say, YMMV.

Seth,

When I fitted the 996 wheels, the rears rubbed on the inside with 285 rubber. I played with spacers, and in the end I gave up and went with the Boxter spec wheels.

Did you need to go with spacers for the back? If so, what size?

Perhaps it was because my GTS had been lowered. Still, I would imagine that you can compress the suspension the 1" my car was lowered and then some. And, they DID rub. Both sides! The paint was worn away on this inside of the fender lips (now repaired). Why risk it?

I run a 17mm spacer in the rear--thus my effective rear offset is 48 (wheel is 65)

My fenders are rolled b/c the car is a gt. Perhaps this is the issue?

Stock GT wheels are 60MM offset in the front. 10MM is not a whole lot of increase.
