Default 1985 928 S3 Auto

Hi all new 928 owner here after lusting over and being talked out of it for years. Apologies in advance if I'm asking this in the wrong place, but I am looking for some parts my shop says are no longer available new.

The problems we are trying to solve are:

Fog lights don't work
Windshield wipers don't work
High beams are coming on and off on their own

Upon initial inspection my shop tells me we need a new wiper motor, fog light relay, and combination switch (for high beam selector). None of these are available new, so I'm looking for reproduction or used parts.

Any leads? Thanks so much!

928 International is the place you are looking for.
They have "Dismantled over 1,000 cars."

They have a nice web site, also:

Go buy a can of the deoxit100 take the lower shroud off the steering column and put a towel on the floor and spray the deoxit into your turn signal switch on both sides and the top and the bottom as best as you can work the levers up and down do both sides you can disconnect the battery first of course and then put it back together and see if it starts working usually the docs it will get your switch freed up and it should start working again then you can replace you realize

-locate and clean all grounds!
-buy a new ground strap
-remove and refresh fuse panel
these are the things a new owner should begin with, it will give you a proper starting point.
All of are well detailed on this forum.
use google to search
good luck

*edit stan's comment above to be "DeOXIT 100". It's very effective for cleaning electronics.

I found several items starting working properly, once I changed their fuses. You may want to change the high beam fuses, wiper fuse as well as the fog light relay(fuses are cheap and can be bought at auto store) Relay can be bought from our 928 stores (like 928srus). Sometimes the fix is simpler than we think. Worth a try and minimal expense.

Great advice thanks so much!

I’ve located all the parts other than the wiper motor, although I wish I had tried some of these suggestions first.

I’ll let y’all know how it goes.

Default Update!

I went and picked up my car yesterday. The high beam issue was fixed with a new combination switch. The fog light issue was not fixed with a new relay and I have not found a new wiper motor yet, so I think I'm going to take the advice given here and check the grounds and fuses before I do anything else. Thanks and I'll keep yall updated!
