Ed: Glad you escaped unhurt. I would have needed to change underwear.
I just completed the set-up and bleeding. I had some minor suggestions with the manual. There are warnings throughout the hard copy. And then the official video has a Q&A with a reference to using them on various surfaces and a nod nod, wink wink that it would be OK on packed sand with single plywood sheets under each side. That made me suspicious of their safety concerns. Mine came with a Luogu thread sealant (liquid) instead teflon tape. I used it on one of the elbow fittings (male end) at the cylinder and then read on the bottle "Leave them enough time to wait for dry and lock." Syntax aside, I wonder how long to "leave them .... wait." Of course it took me hours to complete the set up; I guess the question is really moot. I used teflon tape on the remaining fittings.

But as per Ed's experience, the real safety concern is with the blocks.

I had great luck with their new sealant, overnight in summer temps was enough.
