Default UK TV programme featuring the 928

By chance came across a programme comparing the 928 to the Mazda RX-7 on UK TV last night. Can be accessed by UK residents or behind a UK VPN address.

Fred - Thanks for the link - pretty good head to head and the RX7 was a worthy car to go up against.

I just chanced upon the programme that was a bit of a cheat in that the comparison basis was supposed to be two GT's from 1978 whereas the car actually featured was a GTS but who cares.
Incidentally the lady driving the car [VBH- Vicky Butler-Henderson] is quite a useful racing driver in her own right and as I understand she used to campaign a 928 at once stage- maybe Alex [Cheburator] knows more about that. Whether it was a street driver or a track car not sure - I just remember her being linked to a 928 [a 1986 S2 as I recall].

That is what I call an informed opinion!

Didn't see the vid, but I always thought the Mazda RX-7 was actually a rip off of the 944. That's the real comparison. The 928 was in a much different class.

Yes that would have been a more logical price/mission comparison - but not for that year. Neither example reviewed was from the introduction year but using a GTS was perhaps a bit unfair - though the judges based their opinions only on the cases made by the hosts - which were reasonable to the intro year models. The RX7 though outclassed here was a very interesting machine in its own right.
