The attached diff is non-LSD. You would to pick it up or pay shipping to receive it. I have a hoist to lift it into your truck bed, if that will help.
I can’t store it. I hate to recycle it and will hold out for a while but we’re downsizing and it’s not going with us.

Nice offer, but a location would help.

I'd be overjoyed to pay to have it shipped and use it to "save" other of the same vintage transmissions....and give you a couple of hundred bucks for your trouble.
Finding "core" pieces (especially the valve body) for the '85/'86 transmissions is getting to be difficult.

let me know how to proceed, Greg. I’ve never shipped anything this weight.
I’m in central Maryland.
thanks
… and BTW, I can build a crate if you send a link to a guide with suggestions how to make one substantial enough

To ship this to Greg..

Buy this:
Amazon Amazon

*from anywhere you want to, but THIS cooler*

The trans will fit in it like a glove.

Tape it shut, ship it via Greyhound, should cost about $150.

Another shipping company to consider:

Arc Best Freight (ABF)

No affiliation. Similar set up as Greyhound (door to door pickup and delivery X drop off / pickup at facility, with costs accordingly.), but they don't move people. I had good luck with them about a month or two ago shipping two large U-Haul wardrobe boxes at 100 lbs each, halfway across the country, total cost $371. I dropped them off at their local trucking facility and had them delivered to the door of the receiving business.

It's a little too heavy for me to carry it home as checked luggage. Fedex Ground is often pretty god with stuff like this especially if there's not a rush.

I’ve used Fastenal for moving freight items. They are comparable to greyhound sometimes and more convenient. Strap the trans to a pallet and send it on its way.

I've found that the big igloo ice chest is a great way to ship these things. No hassle building anything. Drop it in, a few pieces of cardboard, and a little duct tape to keep the ild closed.
I can ask, tomorrow, the best way to ship it, although there are good suggestions, already.

hey Greg; PM was sent. It’s sitting on a pallet now. If you would still like me to ship it, please send an address.
Otherwise, if it doesn’t go to Greg, it will be up for grabs and again… I can’t keep it. We’ll soon be downsizing.

I guess the only decision is which color cooler. I understand this works well.

The trans/diff is on its way to Greg now.
I have the old original torque tube with the rod extracted, the tube still has old bearing pieces in it. I used a prettier donor tube, but the old tube seems ok.
Anyone who wants the tube and/or rod and/or vibration damper lump please advise. They’re free and will eventually find they’re way to recycling as I am senior-downsizing. I can send a picture of the rod-ends if anyone is interested. The rod is 25mm and you can decide it’s suitability
