The recently purchased shark came with a small box of old and spare parts. Within them was a tiny black box with a chip in it.
The PO told me that it had a chip upgrade but that he didn't like the way it ran with it and swapped it back to the original.
Anyhow, I'd have some questions:
1) Could anyone identify this chip just by the looks of it? I am sure not many companies make these. The PO bought the car in 2008.
2) As far as I know, installing an aftermarket chip usually requires a higher pressure fuel regulator to be installed. Could this be a source
of my idle issues? It did run fine for the PO for a decade, so I doubt it, but still a question.
3) Should I consider installing an unknown older chip for fun into the car?

Maybe the previous owner installed the 1267356142 chip into your '86, thinking it was an upgrade, but didn't like the way it ran. So they put the stock chip back into the car and dropped the later chip into the box of spares.
