They finished the first coat of drywall mud this morning. It can dry today and they start taping tomorrow... Go team go!

Just west of the Back O Beyond, north of Whoop Whoop and just south of the Boondocks! Also north of Hell Michigan and south of the Mackinac Bridge.
This of course makes me a Troll (lives beneath the bridge). Ake... You are Welcome for sure!
I'm hoping to have a gathering of the 928 faithful once its finished, but I have to get a close by local hotel interested and there is not much to choose from.

As my North Carolina relatives would say.... Just take the old road.. when you pass the white rock turn left after Mr Burns house (Hell I don't know Mr Burns) then go to where the old baseball field was that was torn down 20 years ago, and take the second left. Keep going another 5 or so miles till you pass Bessy house (Don't know here either) take the second driveway on the right and drive by old Mr Whistlers still and we will be on the hill to the left.
Joking aside this is how my relatives tell me how to get to their homes knowing I have not lived there most of my life. Most of them never left town except for a small vacation.

So enjoy all the space, for now. Get several cars in there and the space gets small in a hurry.
Love your shop, A buddy and I share a 27,000 SF shop. And are trying to figure out how to get more space, for parts storage and the machine shop.
Traffic jam on isle 3. The two 928s are not in this view. Two 944 turbos barely visible.

I'm in Atlanta, but we have a second home on Lake Hartwell in Fair Play, SC.
There's a really great group of Carolina guys just across the Tugaloo from you.
If you ever decide to have a little gathering, let us know...

Another week has come to a close and more progress has been made. By the end of next week we should have primer on the walls. For now I have to be satisfied with this:

I'm sure those guys had a lot of experience in drywall mudding, but if they didn't, now they have!
And a lot of that is ceiling work. That's hard work for sure.

Were you tempted to hold back the drywall from the bottom of the walls, at any point in the design? Thinking moisture (I know your floors are sloped and drained, as discussed previously) of just general wear and tear from floor cleaning and "bumping"...
Cheers

Our solution is a 4" glued - industrial vinyl baseboard/kick. I also debated a contrasting color four foot oil base paint for the bottom but considering the fact that this is more storage and static display space I'll add it later if my use changes. In retrospect, it could have been "Greenboard" for the bottom course but again, I do not foresee heavy use of water in the building. My cars are kept exceptionally clean and they can also be washed outside in the shade upon return from an event as I have hot and cold water bibs in three outside locations.

I've seen many failures and over reliance on 'water resistant' plasterboard, and think it's benefits are exaggerated. It still gets mouldy and falls apart if it gets wet. Water and impact resistance can be better achieved using compressed cement sheet alternatives.
