How to sell it?
I would like to sell my '81 project car but I'm perplexed on exactly how to do it.
1) 81 5sp,
2) 80k on the motor ( ran when parked ) ha ha
3) no sun roof or rub strips, no spoilers, no corner lights, no rear bumperetts, no head light squirters.
4) competition package
Currently it's at a body shop and the owner is nowhere to be found. The engine is out, primed and ready to be painted
All of the interior is new, tan sport seats, new dark brown leather dash, new carpet. Good rear quarter interior panels
Gobs of new parts ( steering rack, clutch etc)
I'm considering BaT and I have considered parting it out but the massive about of work involved in packing everything up is huge.
Open to suggestions

#4: thought these were only for US market, would have had spoilers ... so not euro, without spoilers?
How about a VIN check so we can see what it is. Sounds intriguing with the new parts. Sorry your project went into bodyshop twilight zone, been there.

Putting together a for-sale listing with "some assembly required" sounds like the best approach, post it here and if that doesn't get the desired results then pitch it to BAT??

All the parts are there and more.
I bought it a about 5 years back. It was a barn find and against the advice of many of my friends to just clean it and flip it I had this wonderful idea of building my own "outlaw". Times have changed and we are into other projects.
Yes it came with spoilers and it is a US car. We removed the spoilers, filled in all the holes. Bought the correct rear quarter windows and all new molding. Replaced the hatch with an earlier one with no holes. The original hatch was had rusted under the spoiler.
Wanting to make it look like a very early car I removed and filled the corner lights as well as the rear bumperetts.
The plan was to paint it Continental Orange with tan interior.
The title had a lien on it and it had not been registered for 20 + years. It had Florida plates and a Gainsville stickers on the door sills. The 85mph odo worked so my guess the milage is correct. I have driven it
DMV gave me an non op permit, I don't have the title but CA wants it to be smogged before they continue.

I did a VIN check and nothing came up. It was off the books for so long it got purged from DMV files It doesn't have LSD.
Looking back I should have just removed the seats and had them recovered in grey green and put them in my 86.5. Manual sport seats are the best.
I still have the spoilers. They are OK, just really weathered
I have a garage full of tools that only turn left....

if you have an interior in that car it would be best to remove it before painting,
as all the parts will be covered in whatever is getting sprayed.
I have a seen a few cars interiors destroyed by the overspray.
Any idea what you want to sell the project for?

Stan,
It would take at least an hour to remove all the interior including the dash. Budd's shop did the seats and the dash. Door cards are in really good shape. Headliner is good, I have replacement visors for the rear. Some of the trim pieces are marginal. I pulled out a Clifford alarm and a phone ( remember the big brick)? Maybe about 5 #'s of wire.

Today I stopped by the body shop and work was being done. As if someone was reading this forum....Soon I will be in the same place only with a Continental Orange 928.
