New S4+ Carbon fiber (or Kevlar) Rear Wings
#16
Absolutely....The price varies with which wing you want.
If someone wants a $500 fiberglass wing, which doesn't fit the rear window, doesn't have the studs or bolt holes at the proper location and angle....I'm sure those are still available.
This kind of perfection, made with state of the art materials, comes with a cost.

You get what you pay for. [Real Good] Carbon fiber isn't exactly found on a JC Whitney or import Ebay stores.

The effort required to get that perfect carbon fiber layup through all those curves, is incredible, which is reflected in the pricing.
The gelcoat version, ready for painting, is $795, which is a fantastic price, compared to the any of the factory offerings or any of the poorly fitting aftermarket fiberglass offerings.
The version with the visible carbon fiber is $1495 and will have a very limited quantity a available (see below.)
The Kevlar cloth version is a special order only and will be significantly more expensive. However, we're thinking that it will be 1.5 to 2 pounds lighter than the carbon fiber version.
There are currently three of the visible carbon fiber wings available. Not sure how many of the paintable versions are made/available.
These can be ordered by calling Mary at 714 879-9072 or by Emailing Mary at MaryBBRD@att.net.
There's one Kevlar version, special ordered for me, currently in process. Excited to see that.
Not trying to "push" anyone to buy one of these wings, but a carbon fiber part with this level of perfection, comes out of a mold which has a limited "lifespan". The company making this jewelry expects the mold to last for less than 50 parts total...and significantly less for the visible carbon fiber parts....these people are perfectionists.
Our next project in this carbon fiber line will be the early 928 undertray, followed by those impossible to find (except new, on a plastic undertray) air ducts on the late undertray.

Same as the factory. I have enough CF accents on the inside that I'd prefer to just keep the outside somewhat original looking.

That's why we wanted a paintable version.
As the rubber spoilers have been deteriorating, the demand for GTS paintable spoilers has far exceeded the used supply.
Therefore, to one of my clients, a lighter, cheaper, better fitting piece seemed like a reasonable idea.

Here are shots of the paint-ready CF wing. Ignore the pixellation, these were blown up from small thumbnails.
I'll compensate with some more aesthetically pleasing shots:

I agree....I'm not a huge fan of visible carbon fiber anywhere on a 928, except in certain situations.

Some owners want to shed weight for track use. Seems like a no-brainer for a CF wing overall again.

Mark Anderson kindly loaned this client the mold he had for a fiberglass rear wing. Instead of studs, these wings used nutserts, which did not line up with the holes in the rear decklid. This mold was not used....way too rough for this project. A new mold was built and the stud location and angle in that mold was changed a couple of times in order to get a perfect fit with the stock holes.

BTW...last time I checked (four or five years ago). the GTS spoiler was not available.
Added:
I had Mary check today. The rubber spoiler is apparently not available, at all, and has been superceeded to the GTS spoiler.
The GTS spoiler is not currently available, but on "backorder"...not on NLA status.

That being said, I wouldn't mind being a company investor should someone be a founder for a '928 NLA', and all other water-cooled Porsches.

New Primed rear GTS spoilers are available for around $750 from a dealer so the gel coat one is very competitively priced.

Probably fits better too...
