Old & New:
What I meant was that it is of constant concern on twisties in the mountains around here that I concentrate on NOT using the entire road because I don't want to be on the other side of the line as a bike comes around a corner. I keep saying to myself to "Stay on the right side of the yellow line", over and over, because some of the roads around here are covered with bikes. In fact the day I had the encounter with the WRX but didn't know what it was I pulled over to let a bike go by and the WRX snuck by me and then blasted past the bike. I didn't like that and got past the bike but the WRX was gone....for awhile until I caught him. All the while I worry about bikes and oversteering into the opposite lane on a decreasing radius turn I didn't see coming. If you lived here you would know what I mean. They are like flies and come out of nowhere. Just when I am tempted to get into the opposite lane and don't, a biker appears coming around the corner in the other direction right on the edge of the yellow line.

Warning.....No 928 content But, does relate to street racing.
I feel like I am at an AA meeting.
My name is Joe and I have been bad.
Many years ago, I was cruising along on Ocean Blvd in Long Beach, Ca. This is a 4 lane road with houses on the land side and the Pacific on the other. I am sure the real estate along there must be worth a fortune. I am between downtown Long Beach and Belmont Shore area. There is a traffic light and I am first in line in the inside (center) lane. Next to me is a guy with two very attractive, as they only seem to be in Ca. beach towns, girls in his corvette convertible. I have a 911. He revs his motor, the girls giggle and he says "Let's get it on" I say nothing, but do rev the motor.........Now the confession. I look across the intersection and the second car back, in the curb lane, facing us is a black and white CHP.
He revved his motor agressively, I did too. The girls giggled.......... the light turned green and he smoked his tires away from the light. I simply idled away slowly. tee hee
The cop turned on his lights and siren and busted the guy.
I still have guilt about this............... Do I tell the other guy about the cop? NOPE.....
I have always felt a bit bad for not warning him. But he did have the two cute girls.
I guess I will have to continue to live with the guilt

Doesn't it feel "clean" now that you have confessed all?
Nice move. I wouldn't feel guilty about it at all.
Joe, I remember when I lived in Long Beach and saw one of the last Formula One races there, or should I say Formula One weekends. What a show. Someone once told me that I should see a Formula One race no matter what else I did in my life. He was right about that. It should be on every enthusiast's must do list at least once. If you can eat just one. There is nothing else like it anywhere in the world of which I know. Competition raised to another level.

Ron I have never used the whole road for that very reason. Sometimes, when I fuddle, she will need a slight drift across the lines but even then, the margin is nice and wiiiide ... and I've never considered this practice one that inhibits my fun factor or ability to keep ahead ...

I mostly stay on my side as well. I won't play if someone is in front of me and insists on using the whole road, unless there is lots of visibility ahead. That's rare around here, as most of the turns are blind turns. Some roads, Highways 9 & 84 come to mind, have at least one long multiple-S section with enough visibility that if it's clear you can blast right up the middle, driving a straight line through the S's. Other than that, I don't want to be a car length behind one of these idiots when they get into a head-on in a blind turn! I don't want to get caught up in the debris...
