Has anyone on the board actually installed a Jacquemond front end?

I've recently had a major ding in the front end of My GTS presumably from a truck trailer hitch while I was parked... - punched a hole right through (argh!)

So I'm thinking I should look into the Jaquemond front end as an alternate to just the stock replacement...

Part of the reason for this is that I like the look a little better than stock - and my front spoiler and front vents/vanes & supports are also damaged (PO damage on these - I've been living with this until now) so the stock replacement will be very expensive anyway...

I'm interested only in the "Wide M-Style Front End" I don't plan to do any other changes - fenders to stay unchanged, lights all to stay stock etc.

If you've done it - how hard is the install and what is the quality of these parts? Also whats the support structure underneath this - stock or modified and what happens to the front spoiler - hard to tell if there is anything there in these pictures - car looks too low in front also...

I've generally heard really good things about the fit and finish of their parts.
Hopefully someone else can give you more detailed information.
But I have never heard any complaints.

Their kits are very nice looking but waaaay overpriced for fiberglass.

Fiberglass does not weather well on the street . If your front cover had been fiberglass the same impact which punched a hole probably would have cracked it in a really big way . Note that fiberglass Corvettes do NOT have glass front and rear caps ..... One good thing about fiberglass is it is easy to patch , bad thing is it often needs it .

It's odd, I notice that my SUV has been hit a number of times.
Dents in the bumpers, door dings, etc...
But I never get that kind of damage on my 928.
I wonder if people give it a bit more "respect" than other cars?
I doubt you would just smack your door into a Ferarri parked next to you.
But if it was some old junker, you would not be quite as careful...

I would much rather have a cracked fiberglass bumper then a plastic bumper deformed by the Florida heat. At least the fiberglass can be made to look as new.

This shot was taken at the Barrett-Jackson auction of the Strosek 928 conversion (very similar to Jacquemond's). This was Roger Clemens car. As you can see, it does not have a front spoiler on it. It's very low to the ground with only 3 or 4 inches of clearance. The front end, which I think looks great, seems that it would be too wide for the stock fenders. You might want to study this picture carefully before you decide what to do.

my front end is fibreglass and very similar to if not actualy from the exact mold of the strosek, and it was recently installed. although it may not absorb impacts (dont run into things!) it is the only option if you want to update the profile. concerning the fit, i cant comment for jacquemond but the panel shop where mine was worked on told me that fibreglass replacements in there experience never match up like originals. having said that, getting mine on wasnt so bad!

Kind of chinsey looking I think. Of the two bumpers, the Strosek looks better but the headlights are UGLY. If you can afford it, I'd go with the original GTS front end. Tough to beat the original.

Anyone know how much the Strosek sold at the auction?

I believe the Strosek sold for $30K. It was in excellent condition. Even though the conversion was done in 1988, the condition of the paint and bodywork was immaculate.
