Default Another Oil Pressure issue

So I have had a look through previous threads and think I have a plan. My issue is I have a good 4-5 bar consistent pressure however the low oil pressure and CE warning will flash for a long time and eventually go out after 15+ minutes of driving. The pressure range does move between idle and revving. I can then turn off the motor and start again and it stays out. I am getting 14V charge from the alternator and I have the exciter light on at start up. I have recently finished a TB job which included removing the oil pump. It looked in good shape. I cranked the engine for a while and ensured oil pressure before I started it up the first time. It was doing it a bit before the oil pump and TB replacement however I hadn't driven it much since I have owned it. I replaced the terminals as the wires were exposed but it didn't help. Anyway I will do some continuity checks to the 14 pin connector however I am trying to make sense of why it comes good after driving for a while. I think I will get a new sender to try as well. I couldn't find any previous reference with the time delay before coming good. If anyone have other thoughts please pitch in.

Thanks again for the help

Greg

No worries thanks. Will do. I just did a couple of extra checks. Good continuity between the W plug and pin 2 on the 14 pin connector. However what has me a little confused is that when I disconnect the plug all together it does the same thing and or if I deliberately earth the lead it does the same thing. Surely one of the two would make the light go out. The switch itself has about 100 OHMs resistance when not running and open when running. Is it working ok maybe.

Is your engine wiring harness the item that was originally fitted? Take a look at the condition of the wires as they leave the 14 pin connector- if original the insulation will probably be dropping off- if the colour is bleached or a not even clearly recognisable colour chances are the cables are shorting out to some degree and that will cause strange things to happen.

Also take a look at the power cables leaving the hot post- the insulation should be bright red but will probably be a dull brown- another sign you may need a new harness

Yeah original wiring. Its all definitely old however no major noticeable crumbling and colors still visible. I will no doubt replace it all. I have been slowly re-terminating bits as I find them brittle and warn etc. Already done all the injectors and temp senders, TPS and stuff when I did my intake refresh. I actually havent eye balled the CE warning computer yet. Time to find it and have a look.

Well not fully sure yet however I may have fixed it. Basically I found my CE control box. For a RHD car its up under the dash right hand side. Anyway the way they are fitted is with two locating lugs at the back and a single nut on the front. Well the nut wasn't there and the CE CB was just hanging by its wires. I removed the plugs which did look clean and sprayed with Deoxit. Checked continuity back to the 14 pin then put it all back together. First start no CE warning or flashing lights. Not driven yet but good signs so far.

Having one of your senders helped as I could compare the two and mine was looking the same. This coursed me to look further a field. I have also got my rear hatch working but its not parking. Found a blown fuse but in an 84 car that's at the motor. Chasing a replacement for that. I have also traced my AC circuit to stop at the low pressure switch. So that is also promising.
