Default gauge movement with running lights on

Hi all- When engaging the first click(running lights) on the ****, temp and fuel gauges move upward, not downward, quite significantly. All grounds have been cleaned on chassis and I also recently removed the pod to clean things up. Of course the voltage gauge takes a hit and moves downward as the load is being applied. Oil pressure gauge remains steady with no movement. Running voltage is good at 14.2v at 14 post and a same at battery. I did find one historical post with this malady although no solution presented.
Do I start looking at the running lights maybe having a poor socket ground? Maybe light switch itself...... Also, the CE printout for an '84 shows no fuse for the tail-lights, but has all others......
Thanks

The temp and fuel gauges share a common +ve through pin 3 and ground on pin 6, if those references change to the sensor voltage then that might explain what you are seeing. Suggest you remove the connector A on the pod and clean the edge connection with an eraser to see if that helps, also checking for any other issues around that area on the circuit board or connector wiring. You can see below that the light switch could change a bad ground in pin 6 through bulbs K2 and K3, which just happen to be your parking lights bulbs.

Thanks for the schematic detail. I'll give it a try.

Had this problem on my 83. When I replaced the foil with the solid state board conversion, the problem went away.
If I remember right, there are multiple power and grounds for the gauge cluster. I never actually traced where the problem was

That's a feature. When the gas gauge reads low, you can turn on the lights and can go another 30 miles.
