Well must be the weekend for it ... not as nice or as impressive as Sterlings but it is running again. Best of all I now have normal oil pressure.

Most of the saga is here
http://www.928s4.com/project/engineout.htm

So far 30miles covered ... need to get it run in by April 17th.

I'm impressed and believe me that's not that easy to do.

Sorry but I gotta ask.....

Is that your daughter holding your engine up in the air or is there something about your dresscode that you want to tell us?

Poor Child......

Hey, Bernie your a funny man :-) , ..... its my youngest daughter who didn't want to go to bed but wanted to help Dad in the garage much to Mum's horror.

Thanks for the compliments guys, 50 miles, going to do a compression check tonight and check for any gotchas.

Per your website - all that work and you have a leaking water pump?

Did you install a new one?

Hi Randy, yep Water pump is ~18months old, replaced when I did the timing belt change. Not sure if it is the WP leaking or the gasket seeing as it is so well hidden behind the cover.

After I filled the engine with coolant and left overnight there was a v small puddle, just an occasional drip. Since the engine has been running there have been no drips.

Its a bummer for sure but there are worse things that could happen,

Re: coolant leak. Don't forget to check the clamps on the small hoses. I left one of mine a bit loose and had what sure looked like a leak from the top of WP. Most WP leaks would not drip into the valley, but a hose or thermostat housing leak would.
