Porken, I wish I could get my hands on some "unobtanium" to use on the car. Cool thing is they decided to move me from the high stress program that I was working on. (Hangar Supervisor overseeing the heavy maintenance checks on military DC-9's including being the primary supervisor on the Presidential fleet of C-9C's.) Now they have me as a Backshop Supervisor responsible for the Flight Contol Shop, Door Shop, Hydraulic Shop, Wheel/TIre Shop, and the Composite/Hot Bond Shop, as well as Special Program Fabrication. Makes access to lots of potential car goodies great. Plus the next building to mine houses the Sheetmetal Fabrication Shop, Weld Shop, and the Machine Shop. Talk about paradise for a car guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris,

I like it, especially the shots showing it from a distance. To me, it makes the front a little more aggresive looking. Just an idea though, what about having a box-like assembly that just fits inside of the opening made out of aluminum or some other material, to clean it up a bit?

Good job!

I would add a mesh screen in there to block debris of the road from getting to your rad, also you are missing your right light filler by your fog light/driving light, also is your hood actually functional? or is it just for looks?

Hey Chris, looking good...perhaps you can fab a "grill".insert .with the mesh screen that just slips into the space.. I am imagining a piece of stainless about 6 inches wide...bent around to form fit to the space... like (________) and then add the mesh in the back..like a standard car grill??? form a front lip that holds it at the front....can stay stainless or paint black?..

just some thoughts.if this doesn't make sense..i can try to elaborate more later..

Rob, it actually is a lot better than the pictures show. They are more brutal than actually seeing it in person. I thought about adding some formed aluminum to the sides, but once the grill is installed, you wouldn't be able to see it anyway. Thanks. :-)

Tom, that's a good idea. I currently have my brackets fabbed for mounting the mesh, so we'll see how it turns out. If I don't like it, I may go with your mounting idea.

Lizard, you haven't been reading the thread have you. :-) Yes, I'm installing mesh to protect the rad. That was part of the purpose of this mod to begin with. I wanted to update the look, get more airflow, remove some of the weight, and keep large debris out of my rad, and ultimately out of the airbox. Yes, I know the little half moon piece is missing, thanks. Been missing for 4 years, and hasn't dropped the top speed one bit. LOL. I need to replace both fog/driving light assemblies. They are in rough shape, so no need to repair the one, when I want to replace both.
Hood was functional, but no longer is. Now it's just a looker. The cold air intake that required some more room than the stock hood allowed actually hurt performance, so I put the stock airbox back on.

Drnick, thanks. :-) I have silver mesh, but I will be painting it black, and then painting some nice BIG white sharks teeth on it!!!!!!!!!! The wing is on the wild side, but EXTREMELY functional. I can go through high speed sweepers at insanely fast speeds. Probably 20mph faster than I could without it. It really does generate plenty of downforce. Nobody has beaten me yet on my favorite road by my house. (long straights mixed with high speed sweepers) Even spanked a few 600cc sport bikes. The car's fantastic abilities help make up for a lack of my abilities (and good sense). LOL!!!!!!
