Lazer scrambler fun
I drove through a toll gate last night passing a cop just before the gate, as I was late for an appointment I really pushed the shark after stopping at the gate. About 300m later my scrambler's alarm went of indicating a signal from the rear.
Huge was my amusement when I checked my rearview mirror seeing the cop standing next to his car still between the open door and the car right in the gate aiming his lazar gun at me.
Shame I suppose he was looking forward to a exciting chase, I almost felt sorry for the guy. LOL

Makes sense...
Real, functional technology to defeat radar and laser is not cheap...
Although in a few years, some companies will probably copy the electronics, and make a cheaper copy. But that will be a couple years off... Luckily most police department budgets are not up to upgrading their laser and radar gear every 2 years, to defeat the detectors and scramblers!

Go Johan! I love it.
Lidatek is reputed to work. I wouldn't have any actual knowledge of the truth of that assertion, of course.

I've got the Beltronics Lazarpro 904 and it does work. I've had it for two months now and it already saved me four times three times on the highway and once in town only once I was way over the limit when doing 170km/h in a 120 sone the others I was only about 20km/h over but still it helped the system proof itself.
It has two sensors in front and one at the back of the car. It only scramble lazar, fortunately we don't have radar around here.
Get yourself one its worth the money at ZAR3500.
Enjoy your weekend I've got to leave now for the afore mentioned track day on Kyalami today.

FWIW,
IIRC, putting a ~50 watt wideband IR source in near the same wavelength (of lidar) on the front of your car has a similar effect - it's like shining a very bright light in someone's eyes - they can't see very well when it's happening. Obviously, you would need one for the back as well, though personally, ever lidar attack I've been party to was a frontal assault.
But I haven't read any current data on that methodology. Anybody else remember seeing what I'm referencing?
