DFW Breakfast GTG October 3, 2020
This upcoming first Saturday Breakfast will be at Southern Recipe Grill in North Arlington October 3, 2020 at 8am!
Southern Recipes Grill
2715 North Collins
Arlington, Texas 76006
Southern Recipes Grill is a restaurant in far north Arlington at which we have had previous Breakfast Get Togethers. Its features a large parking lot, an outside patio, and Southern cooking. They are always excited to have us back again and are extremely accomodating.
In keeping with the times and personal safety, we will be dining in the front dining room with correct COVID separation. Please be safe and take appropriate caution with your health.
We have no idea how many folk will attend, but if you don't feel safe out of your house, we all will understand. If you are sick or do not feel well, please do not attend.
We would love to see you and your car, but not at the expense of the health of others.
And as always, you don't have to drive a 928 or even own one to attend this breakfast, we would all love to see your car with you in it.
There should be several folks just back from the Shark Frenzy in Virginia. I'm not sure how much can be told of that trip in mixed company, but it will not hurt to ask those involved.
This will also be the last breakfast GTG before the Third Coast event. Registration is located on a link at the 928sRus website. Get those cars on the road now to correct anything that might keep you from enjoying your car for the whole weekend
See you there!

Relatively new-to-me 928 owner with what I’m sure will be the “roughest” driver (stripped interior, etc.) in the parking lot - have a lot of questions for those more experienced than I..
You will be most welcome, come on down - we share your passion.

Brad, there are enough tables in that dining room that everyone who showed up to the prior breakfasts could sit 2 to a table and we would still have extra tables not being utilized. Are you saying that those folks attending the breakfast CHOSE to sit together? Or are you saying the accommodations were not sufficient for social distancing?

I think there was room enough for social distancing. I got there early and sat at a rectangular table arrangement using proper social distancing. As more people arrived they all sat at that same table group. The chairs were not set 6' apart; they were right next to each other. Nobody said a thing about this and I ended up with people very close to me on both sides with none of us wearing masks as we ate. Nobody sat at one of the more remote tables in the room.
It is a great event bringing together wonderful people and I really do not want to harm it. I just don't want old folks with underlying conditions like me to attend thinking they will be safe.
Brad
PS: There is an easy way for the restaurant to fix this. Remove enough chairs to ensure proper distance between customers.

If you were uncomfortable about the seating arrangement involving you, why did you say nothing? As folks sat around you, did you realize that you had the most comfortable chair or the best view and weighed that against the possibility of contamination?
"I'm sorry, but could you move over a table? I'm social distancing for COVID" or moving from the seat you claimed early on to another more remote chair after other folks arrived seems like it would have taken care of your enochlophobia/agoraphobia.

Thanks, Bob. I really love this local group and truly do not want to cause any harm to it. But I also do not want anybody who has to be especially careful these days to believe they will be protected if they attend.
I was there in the middle of what is normally my night because I really wanted to get Roger's advice on selling my car. He was great with that. But my 6' distancing from him soon turned into 2' distancing from others.
To paraphrase the Statler Brothers, "Things get complicated when you hit 75." I can understand why younger folks would find 2" distancing no problem. My cardiologist told me today that it can well be fatal for people like me.
