I'll be doing all of mine in a couple of weeks and will let you know. I'll source the hose locally, the fittings I ordered yesterday from 928 Specialists.

Greg,

Did mine on the 79 over the fall. (little here and there-took me some time because I didn't do it all at once)

Alot of the hoses were hard to get to. I sell Laporoscopic instruments for Gastric Bypasses (Carnie Wilson/Al Roker) So I've got access to long instruments that cut and grab hose. Kind of like having tools on a long stick. These helped me big time. Otherwise I would have had to take alot apart to reach some of the hard to get to lines.

I went on to Bernie's DYI site for info. He recommended the turbonetics hoses for all sizes. I think the bulk of mine were 5/32, but I've got a 79. Do a search for his website (can't remember the exact address) He has 2 good photo shoots of an 85 and an 86 with all new hoses, powdercoating, etc. Both cars came out Kicka$$!!!

Good luck!

Greg,

The Benz flexible hard plastic vacuum line is a nice replacement for the Porsche stuff - and comes with a stylish and racy black stripe on it to boot.

Available in 3 meter lengths (should be plenty for 1 car IIRC) from your local MB dealer. Sorry, don't have the part number handy.

Greg, try Hose Techniques for silicon hose supply. I bought all stock tees , water hoses and such. I also replaced all gaskets and o-rings at the same time.
I took the whole intake off, cleaned the valley and then replaced everyting that was rubber, plastic or paper. I did it over a little while but probably 2-3 days.

Good luck, it will be worth it!!
