New Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement Design

Additionally, if Hans has had his input in this/used his sources to make these, Hans has the intelligence and technology to draw these pieces to scale and realize a 45 degree straight cut fitting and a ball seat have a ridiculously thin contact patch, making sealing completely unsafe for a fuel situation.....especially with an aluminum to steel contact.
I'm sure it's fine.....and it's just difficult to see the ball seat in the pictures.

Like I said, Kevin is a pretty clever guy, and I doubt he's made this dumb of a mistake..

Because it was discussed, even if only tangentially, I thought this might be a good place to share what I've been able to dig up with respect to fittings for these systems.
Generally speaking, it is a massive PITA to find the right globeseal fittings with matched hose sizes. For example, you can find M16x1.5 for -6 hose, but only M14x1.5 for -4 hose. That said, this looks to be like a perfect assortment of the right fittings, with matched hose sizes: https://www.precisionperformanceinc....tric_hose.html
I haven't reached out to them, as they appear to work primarily with other vendors and it's unclear if they sell directly to individuals but it sure would be nice if they did. The website hasn't been updated in an age, so I don't know what the state is of the business, but I thought I would share this with folks that might be looking for these kinds of things.
Cheers

Available in 12 x 1.5, 14 x 1.5, and 16 x 1.5.
Plus have Male and Female metric bubble flare adapters and the adapters to metric double flare in 16 x 1.5 to -6.
In short, if it's a fuel fitting on a German car, I have it.

@Kevin in Atlanta : That's a bummer but maybe not unexpected.
@GregBBRD : That's a huge opposite-of-bummer and saves a ton of headaches.

And I've had made over 20 custom different hose end fittings for metric applications.

@Kevin in Atlanta : Can you confirm the geometry of the fittings on the housings you had machined? Are they the ball shaped seat for the globe seal fittings, or are they a straight taper fitting?

There's a bunch of relatively expensive scrap aluminum there, if they are straight taper fittings....

At this point, it seems we can only hope for the best, and patiently wait for Kevin to chime back in and fill in the details of the fitting design.

Greg, your contributions to RL are immeasurable.
I maintain a document of every suggestion you have made on RL over the past several years and would never be as far along on my stroker without your free advice.
So, given that, let's agree to stay constructive in our comments.

What I see as the coolest thing about this process is the 'groupthink' part.
Lots of folks have a certain amount of knowledge. Put it all together, and you get what is happening here.
Any mistakes, mismatches or that sort of thing get noticed by someone. The exact 'who' is far less important than getting it right. It will likely take a couple tries to get it perfect, but I have no doubt that it well get there.
