Default Plastic trim repair - recommended prodcut

Can someone give me a good recommendation for a product to repair this broken trim piece? I've used the clear+brown 2 part epoxy with mixed results. I've seen solid repairs using some product that looks grey. This piece was for my wiper delete project. Sadly it was crushed in shipping, but maybe I can salvage it.

Crushed in shipping :-(

JB Weld and a heat gun, or JB-Kwik. I was dubious about it for plastic repair, but I'm no longer dubious.

I agree, use JB Weld Plastic Weld, but I always reinforce the broken piece with a piece of fiber glass to add integrity to the area that is broken then lay on the JB Weld ontop of that.

I HIGHLY recommend Q-bond. This product is amazing.

Check out this thread on repairing the rear tabs on center console.

I just repaired mine using Q bond and the results were amazing. Good luck.

Default Repaired - happy with the results

Hey thanks everyone for the recommendations. I ended up purchasing using the JB Weld. In reading the specifications, the JB Weld had a stronger bond than the JB-Kwik but very long curing times (15hrs). In the end I am fairly satisfied with the repair of the broken plastic bits as well as its use as a filler. I found it was easy to sand and drill as needed.

Rob, how are you using the heat gun in combination with the JB Weld? Are heating before application, during curing, or afterward? I didn't see any reference to using heat in the instructions.

Here are some pictures of the repaired trim piece. I decided to fill in the cargo cover plugs as part of my 'clean' look.I'm on the fence if I will cut out an opening for a trunk light.

backside

sanded smooth so the seam wont show through the vinyl.

I used masking tape to block off these holes and it worked pretty well.

Broken tab from shipping, I think I got a little carried away in sanding, I may put an additional layer on the back to reinforce the bond.

This tab was missing so I filled im the missing parts and drilled it out.

The heat gun is mainly to speed the 'kick' time of the JB Weld, so you don't have to hold the pieces in position as long (if it's not a repair that can't just lay on the bench and cure...). That repair looks great!

3M Aluminum body tape (06930) is great for backing repairs, the adhesive is strong and leaves (almost) seam-free surfaces, so less sanding/feathering effort. (It's amazing how tiny a seam or imperfection can show through vinyl.)
