Greetings, I am in the middle of deleting the rear wiper and wiper motor from my car. I am curios to know if I can install a tool tray and hatch trim pieces from a non-rear wiper car (I think before1982 and earlier). According to PET:
928-551-081-04 "plate fore tools without rear window wiper"
928-555-047-51 "lining for cars without rear window wiper"
Will these pieces fit on my S4, and will all the mounting holes and twist locks line up?
Anyone have some spares available? I'd be interested, I'll be recovering them so color and condition of the covers is not important.

Here's where the ambiguity in the definition of 'OB' comes into play- If you believe OB is 78-79, their tool trays (-03) are very different from the -04 (Non-S in ROW only) tool tray with no rear wiper) from '80 to '82.
So yes, an -04 tool tray would fit, it'll be from a non-S 80-82 Euro.
For the hatch trim, 928 555 047 02 will have no cutout for the wiper but it will also have no cutout for the rear hatch light. 047 51 is the same thing but in leather, for 81-82.
Given your mad vinyl skills I wonder if it wouldn't just be easier to glass in the opening? This is what was done on Dan Hebert's '91:
I have a black carpeted rear tool tray from a '90 GT available. Perfect shape.
I would be interested if yours does not have the bump-out for the wiper motor, otherwise please sell it to @soontobered84

Hi Rob, thanks for your comments, I should have been more clear on my OB reference. I should have stated I was looking at parts compatible with 1980-1982 models. I saw Dan Hebert's post about glassing in the cutout for the wiper pivots and that is still an option. I do plan to retain my originals for easy reversion back to stock but I could modify a spare if needed.
My design intention for my wiper delete project was to use OEM parts that did not have bump-out on the trim of the tool panel, only because I thought it would be pretty.
As for the trim panel cutout for the light. That does not bother me much. I may delete the rear light, or I may do the cutout for myself. I have analyzed the mounting plate and pegs and have a solution for that. On a related note, PET shows two options for the trim panel without window wiper. it looks like you can get it with or without the light. But like I said I am open to either piece. I am more concerned if the 6 mounting holes will line up on my hatch.
Guys, This is the one I have. No tools, just the cover and attaching hardware, but in very nice shape. Looks like the closest condition one on eBay is about $180 shipped. Make me an offer if interested. Thanks.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I ended up purchasing the associated interior bits for a non-rear wiper model car, the tool tray (PN 928-551-181-04) and the hatch trim (PN 928-555-047-02). I can confirm they both are a direct fit into the S4/GT/GTS models.
I don't have the proper carpet for the tool tray so that will need to wait a little bit before installing.
As for the hatch trim I had to repair some damage from shipping before recovering it. Also it did not have an accommodation for a connivence light so I decided I would add one. I had one of these nice VW lights in the original panel Its a nice light bit it has some interference issues with the body panel behind it.
For some strange reason I cannot remember, I had one of these VW lights in my stash as well. It's smaller profile will not have the same problems the larger light has. I loose the ability to control this light separately but that is fine by me. If I don't like it I can cut the opening lager and use the original. This is the non-switchable light, VW aftermarket
It's a fair bit smaller than the original cutout size. Here is the light installed with new dark blue vinyl wrap. Wrap details And yes, it works fine. Also note I deleted the cargo cover holds on this trim piece.
All the parts removed for the deletion weigh in at 10lbs for reference
