I'm not entirely sure, I seem to have oil all over the place under the car but none of it looks very fresh so it's hard to tell where it originated from. I will try investigating further. Thanks for the heads up!

Addendum to starting issue on ajc283 '78 928 problem. Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but merely to add my problem and its solution.
Update: I have removed my CE Panel for the refresh. I found a spliced in relay housing on XVII (fuel pump) , back of board shows poorly spliced wiring, and also, most importantly the back of the housing on the board is melted. I haven't had time to decipher the wiring diagram yet on my schematic from the volume manual, but this is a major problem. I am wondering if this can be related my intermittent starter engagement issue? I have a '78 manual car and the starter relay is bridged at XV the neighboring relay socket. I am going to source a new CE board as I can't seem to find this particular relay housing online. Any other suggestions? Observations? I will attach photos below.
