2-1/16 sounds perfect (since I just ordered 2 gauges that size!)

Far and away the single best place to mount critical gaughes so they do not escape your obervation is on the a-pilar. Right in your line-of-site, in your peripheral vision.
Carl,

Like you say, right in your line of sight...

PROGRESS ON A-PILLAR GAUGE PODS FOR THE 928

We are making progress on this - sorry it has been so slow but we have had two thermo-formers that said "sure, we will make that for you" go sour after they have our prototype in their hands and suddenly they want $2000 for the mold and 60 days for the first part.

However, I think were' gonna be good to go now. 928 motorsports has now commisioned Gauge Works to make our a-pillar gauge pods for you guys - they make the a-pillar clusters for AutoMeter so you know the quality is good and they know what they are doing.

I have commisioned Gauge Works to make both a 3-pod pillar and a 2-pod pillar. I have been told to expect the first parts ready to ship about the first week of July. (This July, 2004!)

Unlike the slip-on 2-gauge a-pillar pod we have been selling on our website, these will COVER your entire a-pillar liner completely with no seams and NO SCREWS. It is a close-fit molding made to nest over the existing piece of interior trim that you have without any mods. No damage or changes to your interior trim are needed - it is held in place on top of your existing interior trim with double-sided tape (which can be removed without damage later if you wish).

Final pricing is yet to be determined, but our target is $75 for the 2-pod pillar and $85 for the 3-pod pillar. So far, it looks like we will hit these targets are perhaps even a little cheaper. My son had to pay $100 for a 2-pod pillar for his 944, so I am pleased to bring these in at these prices.

For all our supercharged and turbocharged friends - 3 pods would be just the ticket.... 1 for air/fuel mixture, 1 for boost pressure, and 1 for intake air temp. When driving, you cannot see gauges stuck in the center council very well... the a-pillar is a line-of-site location and works great.

If your interested, add your name to this thread - I will post news as it gets closer.

carl,
i would be interested in a 3 gauge pod. tried to modify a mustang one, which is doable, but i'd rather have one specifically fit to our a-pillar.
thanks,

I may take a two holer and add fuel pressure and air temp after the intercooler, or a three holer and add one for EGT.............depends on how good the result of your efforts are. Hope it comes out good.....not gonna do a rice look on Gretch.......

Put me down for being "interested".
