Something with Pascha interior. 5 speed.

Prefer very low miles.

I may end up going the restored route.

Don't be afraid to shop in Europe. They were generally a few years ahead the US market in appreciating the early cars. A number of nice and/or rare early cars got on the boat from the US back to Europe 2012-2016. My very un-scientific instagram observations indicate they have more of these types of cars than we do now.

I think you are correct regarding Europe. I’ll put this search on the back burner now. It’s been something I’ve been interested in for a long time but when I’m not actively looking something will come up. Given how asset prices have heated up in the market in the last several years, I think we are due for a correction and that’s when some collectors start selling including in Europe. It feels in markets I’m more familiar with as definitely top of a cycle.

According to the number of US-spec cars which suddenly came up for sale in Europe in the last 5 years, and considering how they do not seem to sell, at least at not anywhere near the relatively high asking prices, it is likely that some good deals could be made in the coming months/years for US buyers looking to re-import US-spec cars.

We’ve seen the long hood early 911 market crack. Cars at auction and privately aren’t bringing the same amounts if they sell. A few historic cars still do. The last cycle everyone wanted to sell at once it seemed but there weren’t buyers. I doubt Europe will be a buyer either as their currency is too low as well. Cars are coming back from Europe now.

They're out there. A rough but decent-looking '79 went at auction for under $5k the other day.

Set up eBay alerts, two mint condition low milage early cars were sold from there last year.

Hemmings is another spot that really nice cars get advertised. Check there, you might be surprised at what you find.

Here is one that goes up for sale in 2 days. '78 Cashmere Beige 5-speed. Great color IMO.

Another great color here. '79 Copper Brown Metallic 5-speed. No pasha but c'mon, that interior is killer!

Another Copper Brown Metallic. This time a '78 with pasha in Germany, but it's an auto.

A CS (Club Sport) is not going to be an easy or cheap find. They only made a few of them, and a couple have been totalled & scrapped.

Samuel over in France (928CS on here) is the 'resident expert'. He has the best knowledge of them, knows where many are and usually is among the first to know when one comes up for sale.

True!

alas, it wasn’t as good of a condition as we desired. I trust he’ll find me a great one!
