Since you are a newbie here (with a gorgeous car) I will add some advice. When Mr Merlin offers a suggestion, treat it like an order/\. He really knows these cars!

Really nice looking car.

Definitely plan to come to Sharks in the Mountains. It's in Banner Elk, NC and is always the first weekend of June.

Great looking car, looks like Taubenblau (Dove blue)? I am curious what your VIN is as my '89 also originated from NC.

It is indeed Dove Blue. Repainted the original color at some point in its history due to a clear coat failure according to the seller. VIN is WP0JB0920KS860118.

Yours (US #58) was built earlier than mine (US #81).

That is interesting about the paint as my clearcoat has failed on the mirrors and part of the roof. Enjoy!

The VIN does not perfectly reflect the production order and maybe both cars were produced around the same time.
My former 1989 CS (wp0zzz92zks840188) was finished at the end of August 1988. It is also Taubenblau and had clear coat problems too.
Wonderful color and I regret that my current 1988 CS is "just" regular black.

Any picture of the trunk sticker?
The top left figures in small font are very interesting.

I was thinking about the build sticker located under the carpet of the trunk, over the fuel tank.
TIA.

This is where I got started and got the confidence to tackle other jobs. Dewayne give step by step instructions with torque values, pictures and everything. Very hard to go wrong following these. I wish he would have done one on complete motor rebuild. If you get stuck, this forum has the answer. Good luck & welcome to the tank.
