Rear wheel 9Jx17-ET55 fitmant qn
#3
Hi there,. I have not bought them yet. Local guy is selling a set of Porsche 993 rims: front 7 x 17, rear 9 x 17 ET55. Thinking of buying but wanted to make sure they fit. attached are pictures of the wheel, not sure if this is an OEM wheel based on the part number. What do you think?

yep cup 2.
NOTE if they are chromed I would suggest that you pass on them,
the chrome will come off the rims over time and the beads will be a constant leak source .
by then you could have bought another set of wheels that are refinished without chrome

Really I had no idea. What if you sand blast and powder coat? would that still be a problem? This guy is selling them little cheaper but now I am not so sure if I should buy them.

The chrome is a lot harder than the aluminum underneath, once you blast off a flake of chrome plating, you'll dig a pit in the aluminum before you knock off the next chrome flake. The original owner of my '90 GT had chromed the D90 wheels, all were flaking and two would not hold air reliably.
Chroming wheels is a 1 way street, I would stay away.
