OK, I've been meaning to get an update in here. I finally got everything done on the car and took it out for a drive. I've been anxious to see how everything would feel compared to what I had. This clutch went into my 91 supercharged GT. The clutch that was in there was a custom single disc setup. It has always been a bit heavy even with the helper spring adjusted and seemed to be on the verge of slipping if not actually slipping a bit at peak torque.

Greg has stated that this clutch is "buttery smooth". I went for it but wondered if it was going to be buttery like warm Country Crock margarine or buttery like those cold little rock hard butter pads they give you at the restaurant that tear the crap out of your bread. Well, without a doubt it is the first!! Just WOW, what a clutch! The pedal pressure is a lot lighter than what I have gotten used to and engagement is nice a smooth. There is definitely no slipping going on anymore! My old clutch must have been slipping a bit because my care 'feels' faster now. Outstanding clutch Greg and I couldn't be happier! Definitely the way to go for any car that has more than stock power and needs more clutch. This will be the only way I will go if I have another manual high performance 928.

WELL DONE!!

In reality, any thanks should go to Tilton, for building such a magnificent street clutch, at a reasonable price.
And then thanks should go to Jim Corenman for figuring out that this clutch would fit into a 928 bell housing.
All I did was have the pieces made that are required to use the Tilton clutch in the 928 application.

I'm glad that you like this new clutch. Yes, "smooth" could have a different meaning to different people. What I should have said was: "This new clutch is as smooth as any brand new stock 928 clutch."
And I've been installing some into completely stock cars, now that the Porsche clutch pieces have dried up and pieces are only available, from Porsche. (The dual disc version is a bit of an overkill, but works great! Still working on a single disc version.)

If someone needs a new flywheel, along with a clutch, my new clutch assembly is actually cheaper than the stock clutch and flywheel!

Well then, thanks to Tilton and Jim Corenman! Great work by all involved. This is exactly the clutch I have been looking for!

We've got to keep these cars on the road, while improving wherever possible.
I never stop developing. I'm completely self funded and just a work stiff, so new stuff needs to be done, when I can afford to do it.
Several important things in the works.

Great news!
I had another run of all the pieces required for these magnificent, super smooth, "hold more torque than you can ever make" out of a 928 engine, clutch/flywheel assemblies.
We made a small change in flywheel material....not for any particular reason, except that the prices for steel are so absurd that most of the varieties of high grade steel are close to the same price. (So why not use the very best?)
We made some changes in how the ring gear is attached to the flywheel.
And we made some changes to how the clutch hoses were routed.

And then the amazing part:
Because we made a larger run of pieces and are past the "prototype/engineering" stage, we were actually able to reduce the price from the "introductory price" of $4500 down to $3995!
(Even though Tilton's prices went up about 10%.)

Some of these are already spoken for and a couple of the flywheels are earmarked for testing in my new single disc clutch assembly. (Just need the time to install and test.)
However, there's a few available.

My guarantee: You will never find a better clutch than this, in terms of smoothness, easy predicable release every time, lack of wear, or the ability to "hold" more horsepower and torque.
It's the last clutch you will ever need!
