I think Precision Motorwerks is closed for the holidays as I heard after the new year. I wish I was off so I gladly applaud those that earned the time and take it.
Van has not been heard from....he might not be "in country".

I'm in the middle of "freshening" Andy's 605hp (over 500ft lbs from 5,000 to 7,200) 6.5 liter engine and transplanting it into a 5 speed GTS. I'm using some of my brand new pieces (that very few have seen) on this engine, in the search for 10% to 20% more horsepower.

The "new owner" does not want any clutch chatter. I knew that I was not going to be able to deliver his wishes, without a completely new clutch, so the development of this clutch was primarily for three people....Jim, Rob, and this person.

That's where clutch #2 is going.

Greg often implies that he is not into marketing or sales...

But, I'm often sold. If Van doesn't want it, I'll take it! Looks really fantastic.

Went to cars and coffee this AM, then to pick up some croissants to score some husband points. Crept out of the lot at 1 mph, parting the foot traffic while modulating the clutch, no judder, no drama, smooth as stock. I'm back to having a stock-feeling GTS, with 100 extra hp. Perfect.

Here's a picture of the "bits". My goal is to send everything the customer may need, so they are not stuck needing any pieces. It reduces the "profit margin", but I want to get these things "out there", so people know how wonderful a clutch can be. (I'll adjust the margin, as time goes on....Harvard School of Business, 101)
(The flywheel and the clutch assembly are not pictured, here.)

I talked to Rob Edwards, this weekend. He's now driving his 928 all over the place, instead of letting it sit, at home, because he might get stuck in traffic....or hit a stop light.
A super smooth clutch changes the entire personality of a vehicle.
You are going to love this!
Even by my super high standards, this is a wonderful thing!

It's been 10 years since I've driven the car and the only thing that sticks in my mind was the bitchy clutch... so to say I'm looking forward to this is an understatement.

Does this mean that you are manufacturing brand new flywheels that could be bought separately and used with other single disk clutch setups? Or, does your new flywheel only work with your clutch?

The Tilton clutch has some specific dimensional requirements, in terms of a flywheel.
I doubt that any other clutch would work with this custom flywheel.

Finally getting around to installing the clutch! Going good so far but quick question on the brake fluid for the clutch. I’ve seen it mentioned that ATE SL6 is good to use but avoid Pentosin. I have both Pentosin LV and Super DOT 4 on hand. The LV seems to be an exact match to the ATE SL6. Any reason not to use the Pentosin Super DOT 4 or LV? I saw where Tilton recommends not using DOT 5 silicon based or any DOT 4 over 550 F heat range. The ATE and both Pentosin’s have a boiling point of 509F which is below the 550F recommendation. Thoughts?

thanks!
