I have always liked the clean look of no model designation. Both of mine have only the color highlight decals inside the recessed PORSCHE letters. I like the simple uncluttered look that gives to the awesome tail end shape of these cars (both S and S4).

I also enjoy how it sometimes adds to the mistique of the cars. I like people being uncertain about the model type. Since most people don't really know which model it is, that makes them more curious.

To each their own, of course.

Regards, Mark

From the picture, the issue that 'breaks the harmony' is that the horizontal plane through the 'S4' needs to rotate counter clockwise ~5 degrees to match the '928'. - it seems as if they are slightly rotated to the right of the intended vertical axis: as one comment made "...they seem to be falling off..."
As far as vertical placement, the base of the S and 4 together looks great: one of the alternate choices you mentioned is close to the excellent pics Watercooler posted recently (or on his site).
Looking good!

En Anglais sil vous plait ;-) Garth ok that is helpful. Took a while to figure out what you were saying but very helpful. I think this is a parallax problem, because the horizontal plane on the 4 is exactly like those on the other numbers. Perhaps rotate the S?

Why is top of the "s" in allignment with the top of the "928"? By doing that nothing else lines up. What if you raise the "s" a little to split the difference in size between the top and bottom of the 928? Then the top of the "4" could line up with the bottom of the "928" Maybe that would help some - just a suggestion

Hello Hienrick,

I have also used the Porsche raised lettering on my S4.

It is entirely personal, but IMHO they look great, and are a real improvement over the dated factory decals. These are the same style emblems that were on the last 3 model year cars (GTS's), and they are used today on current Porsche models. So to me, they look OEM.

I, like yourself, had a little trouble finding the emblem arrangement that was most appealing, so I made this test sheet to compare the various arrangements.

I did not consider a black 928 with common S4 color, however on your white car I think the red S4 look just great! Good choice!

When you decide what the final arrangement will be (or status quo), please post a pic of your ***.... ahh.... I mean the back of your car.

Here is the link to my emblems page:

Cheers,
Mike

Heinrich,
You're correct in that all the numbers are set at the same angle (as best as a mickey mouse protractor on a flat screen can indicate): it is the "S" that needs a counter clockwise 'tweek' - at least from this angle in cyberspace.

Hello Garth,

Ya finished shoveling last weeks white stuff yet?

We still have quite a bid here in ON, however it is forecast to be +10C on Sunday. I'm hoping it will stay warm for a while so the snow will finally melt. I have to get my S4 out of hibernation and to my wrench for a new O2 sensor. May be then I can pass emissions and get a plate.

I guess you are itching to pull back the car covers as well.

Cheers,
Mike

Hey 'WC',
Last weeks blizzard was enough to cancel spring: 96 cm. in Halifax, 80 cm here - following hurricane Juan, this blow was nicknamed 'White Juan'. Spring would be nice....

Hi Jim,

Funny, I was stuck between #9 and #11, and eventually chose #11. I then changed my mind back to #9, however I got to the shop too late and they had been painted.

I am happy with the gray though.

If I run into a kid with a screwdriver and my emblems in his hand, I may (after I beat him silly) try #9.

Cheers,
Mike

Mike Dude your site was forwarded me by Jim (the heckler) originally and served of course as my plan. OK Boys and girls, here it is, I've done it, neasured it, and it's officially mathematically equal. FINAL. I've posted the pic in place of the original
